Two thirds: we have a compensatory third for Raheem Morris joining the Falcons. It'll be the last compensatory pick for that signing we have.
See!!! This is why you get paid the Big Bucks! Thank You!

I checked two different sites, and neither mentioned the Morris comp pick. But I should have known.

Apologies to @PhillyRam!

I don't think fans understand the dynamic with McVay and the Rams ownership and front office. They were rumored to be willing to let him take a year off if he wanted to. McVay is a rare example of a head coach whose quality makes the rules fly out the window.

So if McVay ends up parting ways this offseason with the Rams it will be due to his unhappiness with the roster. And that would be an acknowledgement that it requires more work and struggle than he's willing to endure. Because if he takes a break he gets time with the family and then can make his pick of damn near any team and situation the following year.

What I expect is going to happen is he will trim his staff again. It will have the BS spin you get from the Rams on the great opportunities they're all leaving to go get, but it will be McVay getting rid of guys who weren't good enough. Here's my bet on who will be gone:

:helmet: OL Coach Wendell. Nothing against ol' Hagrid, but the Rams are going to be pissed off about this OL performance this year and he's the MFIC of the unit. Also McVay has been flirting around with Munchak for a couple years now, who is a hundred times more qualified to run an OL for a top team like the Rams. I expect McVay will make this official and hire Munchak.

:helmet: ST Coach Blackburn. He seems like a great dude and all but our special teams have been consistently underwhelming under him. Only one game in my memory where they actually made a big difference in the result. Our young kicker has regressed and looks like shit now. Our return teams suck ass as per usual. Time to add a new ST Coach and maybe he'll be smart enough to jump on the fucking table during the draft to add a RETURNER who isn't going to have a major role on offense or defense.

Looking at the secondary any of those coaches might get the boot, but what should protect them is the fact this roster isn't all that talented. Beake should be the most worried because the safeties have sucked in anything other than near the LOS type usage, but then again how much of that is him. Idk. So not gonna say there will be a firing here but I wouldn't be comfortable if I'm any of them.

Same goes for TE. The coach for that room has a pile of JAGs on his hands.

RB honestly I can't blame the coach for Williams' continued lack of a handle on the ball, but I do blame him for not pushing Corum in the game on subsequent possessions following the fumbles. A little bench time does wonders for a player's mentality when it comes to fucking up. But I think the RB position has been well coached so I figure he's safe.

I agree with your assessment of the coordinators. I actually think McVay needs a complete rehire of his staff to be fair. He really needs to shake things up. Right now, it seems...Stale.

I'm not sure I agree with the dynamic part of your post. Look, McVay has a total record of 75-51 in the regular season and 82-55 including the playoffs. But over the last 3 years the Rams are 20-25 up to this point. Which is not very good. And being a business owner myself, what you look at is now. Even the Rams motto is "The Future is Now". Well right now we aren't very good. Have another underwhelming season and those warm and fuzzy feelings will be a thing of the past. We've all seen it before, there's no reason why should expect anything different if things continue to trend in the wrong direction.

McVay needs to surround himself with some strong-minded, grizzled veteran coaches. Losing Raheem was a big deal, as he was the only guy on the staff that likely had any real influence on him.

As a business owner you would also get into the grass on the how and why the performance was what it was. Not just the recency of the poor performance.

And in looking deeper:

1. It is clear we are in a rebuild following a win-now strategy that dominated McVay's early tenure.

2. It is clear that as it pertains to rebuilds, McVay is outperforming his peers, as per usual.

Yeah, it looks good but he gave hurts an escape route and he ran for a 1st down. Which is what the Rams didn't want. Had to contain that fucker. He killed the Rams on 3rd down because they let him run out of the pocket.

Rams have a problem, and they have for a while now under McVay, in taking too long to make roster depth chart moves. When it comes to WR or QB McVay is a total hardass. But with some other positions he puts on the kid gloves, and those are the positions that have given him the most heartache. Those being OL and RB.

Bottom line is Williams has a fucking fumbling problem. Teams know it. Defenses know it. They prepare for it now and it's going to exacerbate the issue. That fumble killed us on that first drive. It was a huge momentum swing in a game where we could not fucking afford any sort of momentum swing. They had no room for error vs that roster.

And they trot his ass right back out there. WTF. Where is the fucking leadership from that staff. What does that tell Corum he is worth. It was some hot bullshit.

Going forward they need to get Corum fucking ready. I keep saying this. Williams is not a bellcow. He also is going to get hurt. Not like it matters now, as this team is so damn flawed they're not gonna do shit in the playoffs even if they get in. But by now they should have a 50/50 competition going between these guys. And Williams should not be vastly in the lead when he's putting the fucking ball on the ground.
We were up 7 to 3 and 7 to 6 and were stopping them from scoring TDs. So it wasn't a huge killer, but we needed those points in the end.

Not according the the announcers said 5 man fronts
I believe you. I turn the sound-off when Collinsworth is calling a game.

A five-man-front doesn't necessarily mean all five rush the passer.

I just listened to Stafford's press conference again; and when asked about the Eagles pass rush, he said:
"They rushed four the majority of the night. That's kind of what they do. They didn't do anything we didn't expect. Just executed better than we did".

From what I saw and remember, the Rams' blockers were just beaten in heads-up pass-blocking match-ups.

I could re-watch the game but I am not going to put myself through that.

Looked like a 3 levels issue to me. Our 4 star defensive front players are light. Heaviest one is 295. Gonna get blown off the ball every time.

Linebackers stink. Nothing new to say.

Corners were bad. How many 3rd and long did we surrender?!?
The Rams have got to be the worst at 3rd down on both sides of the ball.

That's not conducive to winning football.

At least the defense can sometimes get stops on 3rd downs. The offense though, truly pitiful on 3rd downs. This year they might set the record on futility on 3rd downs.

Some tidbits I pulled from another site I’m on. Why does it feel every team/player has some way old record breaking performance against us?
  • NFC West standings thru Week 12, with point differential: Seahawks 6-5 (+2), Cardinals 6-5 (+8), Rams 5-6 (-43) *ouch*, 49ers 5-6 (0).
  • Saquon Barkley finishes with 302 total yards, with the Eagles now kneeling it out. That's the ninth most yards from scrimmage in a game from a single player in NFL history, and the most by anyone in nine years.
  • Saquon's 255 rushing yards and 302 scrimmage yards are both new franchise records for the Eagles.
  • Saquon Barkley is the 6th player to have multiple 70+ yard rushing TDs in the same game.
  • In just 11 games with the Eagles, Saquon Barkley has more rushing yards than he ever had in any season as a New York Giant.
  • Saquon needed 48 yards last night to match Derrick Henry's rushing total through 11 games. He now leads Henry by 207 yards.
  • Saquon had 213 yards BEFORE contact. The most since Jerome Harrison in 2009.
  • Saquon is the first player to have 500+ scrimmage yards in a 2-game span since Walter Payton in November 1977.

One last vent from me. The eagles are my dad’s team. I just want to tell him “hey we got YOU this time”. It feels just so goddamn rare to win against this team. Without looking it up, I’m pretty sure our only wins against them in the past 25 years is the 2001 nfc championship and a 2020 Covid game with no fans

Limmer and Avila were dominated inside.
Avila has been disappointing since his return.
Williams is great but he has a fumbling problem.
He is approaching Cleveland Gary status. That is a problem that needs to be fixed.
I would send Karny to the PS.
He cant be trusted to make very makable kicks at this point.
Rams lose the Bills and win everything else (Saints, Whiners, Jets, Seahawks, Cards) puts the Rams at 10-7.
That is possible.....I don't know how likely at this point.
This year was a rebuild on the go type of year and it is playing out that way so far.
