You make some good points. I’ve been critical of the early draft picks for years. Rapp was t worth a second, I didn’t like the Akers/Jefferson picks, nobody understood the Tutu pick. But I keep getting told Snead is a draft genius. Better talent at those spots would be huge right now, even if they were all Olinemen.
BUT you also mentioned injuries twice after saying it’s not just injuries. The Oline and Secondary injuries are a major factor.
He’s never been that good in the first place. He was a late round pick for a reason. He lacks speed and athleticism. Sure he may be really intelligent. Maybe he should be a coach instead of a player.
No it definitely has to do with injuries what I'm saying is there won't be a quick fix for the offense other than some time to heal possibly a Corbett type trade and adding Jefferson and Obj back could help but that's a lot of stuff that needs to happen.
My point was I'd invest in the defense which even with the cb shortage it's not like we are giving up 30 pts a game but we rank near the bottom in pressures and sacks I believe. Should you add that major piece you help the unit all around and the corners should come back sooner rather than later.
As far as the draft picks Akers looks bad but again the line does factor in but yes could be a wasted second rounder .....tutu looks like that may be over and he will get the bust label. Jefferson not a bust at all he is also injured and he was a solid pick and will get better unless he has tod Gurley knee.
So I'm saying the offense will take a lot more to repair especially the line healing and maybe adding a piece through a trade again alla Corbett bit that's a wait and see but the defense is a better unit add the elite edge and it helps with everything maybe get lame Offense an extra possession or two also.
