I don't normally do the vent thread. But Jeezus our o line is atrocious. Our defense can't tackle. Allen Robinson isn't showing up (think we can trade him to the Titans for Bobby trees?), and I don't know what to say except Cam Akers ain't it. Cooper Kupp is looking like Steven Jackson circa 2007, meaning he is the sole bright spot on offense.

I get so angry seeing the Niners whoop us every year. How is this even possible? The odds are insane that this happens EVERY YEAR.
Shanny owns McVay.

EDIT - I don't think McVay called a bad game last night btw. We moved the ball decently well against an elite defence on the road, maybe the best in the NFL, with an o-line of backups and in some cases 3rd stringers. We just stalled in the red zone. Go look at how other teams have fared vs. that SF defence... it is not pretty. To win that game we needed to be opportunistic, cashing in on our red zone trips, and have the defence play well. Neither occurred.
Yes there were plays for us to be made but the players came up short starting at QB.

A positive: Jackson looks great at RG! The corollary of that, however, since this is the vent thread: what the heck is the coaching staff watching in practice for him to have been so far down the depth chart?
Yeah it is nuts. Rams are all above the neck in their practice approach. Which keeps players healthy and can work when they prepare for phusicality later in the year but sometimes you can miss the obvious, like Jackson's power making their OL choice at RG look like comedy.

What has happened to Jordan Fuller? Is it regression?
Unless he is missing a leg it is hard to imagine that Rapp is a better option.

Whiners had a journeyman center, a rookie at guard, a second year player at the the other guard position that many of their fans had labeled a bust, a back up LOT who was then replaced by another backup as T. Williams was out and their regular starting RT. Carapolo wasn't sacked one time. Tired of the excuses. This roster was put together by Mr. "F*** Them Picks" and S. McVay. Right now their decisions are biting us in the @$$
I do agree 100% that we should have been able to put more pressure on Jimmy G. Although he was getting the ball out quick, and for some reason our CBs were playing WAY off.

Good question, I’m not sure if he’s still bothered by last year’s injury and isn’t 100%. There are a few guys in defense that haven’t made an impact so far this year. What happened to Floyd? Gaines? A’shawn? Jones? I don’t think I’ve heard their names all year.

Sad part of Goff and the Lions are doing better than us on offense. Unfortunately the Lions defense is shit tho so go figure

Lions have an excellent maybe one of the best offensive line in football. Holmes understood that.

Higbee is our 2nd biggest weapon. ARob is a dude that wears a Rams jersey.
Hahaha. I said almost the exact same thing to my son last night.

The only one I saw that could have been was to Higby and he had a defender in his face so not easy but doable.

What other one did you think should have been?
He completely ignored Hendo wide open for a walk in TD and threw over him to someone (Robinson?) and almost got it picked in the end one.

Stafford doesn't seem like he's seeing the whole field as though he's tunneled on Kupp, obviously, over everything else. Sure the o-line has something to do with it at this point...

Considering everything the Rams were still in it in the second half.

The Rams have trouble with 1st and goal 8-9 yard line which they had IIRC on 2 FG possessions. Stafford blew on possession with missed open TDs. Could be a lack of run game ie power blocking. Had they been able to get TDs it changes the game.

Robinson is not getting any separation plain and simple. Hard to blame Stafford for not going to him. The offensive line is a mess. McVay doesn't help with the long pass plays however, the Whiners played tight coverage so maybe Stafford had to hold the ball. It's a double-edged sword with Stafford. He can make plays by holding the ball longer but, also takes sacks. I think the Whiners knew they could get to Stafford mixing in blitzes with rushing four.

I'm not sure what Morris is supposed to do with the defense. A few bad plays gave up big-yard plays. Missed tackles again.

I kinda expected this with the injuries and the lack of cohesiveness. Rams need to turn it around fast before the playoffs slip away with a difficult schedule.

I don't know what's happened to this team this year but it's not looking good. I know we have injuries and we're missing some key players from last year but geez, this is one hell of a Superbowl hangover. I'd like to say it's only this game but it hasn't been, we have not looked good yet, even our 2 wins were ugly. I think we're in for a short season :not:

I don't though the high picks is the thing here. The niners traded 3 1st rounders for a guy not even playing but it's more the failed 2nd rounders that may cost us like tutu or I'm sorry at this point and I know there is no o-line but Akers is a failure to he was early round pick as well. We have done ok drafting I just think you need to plan a bit ....we all saw the offensive line thing coming when whit was retiring we were all skeptical and even completely healthy this line still is a bit iffy then one of our biggest problems was always getting Batman a Robin and Von did that it's obvious we need the same. Floyd injured not injured don't know but he is virtually non-existent making it even worse.
As I said in another post I go dynamic edge now to keep us afloat til the line gets healthy wait for Obj and Van and maybe add a Corbett type trade there has to be some other Rams liked like that out there they could nab for a 5th rounder or whatever they gave up for Corbett.
Again my eggs go in the defensive basket to keep us afloat until the offense gets healthy and hopefully comes together even if it means wing ugly for a while. Add that piece get the corners healthy and we could be ok 13-9 victory is better than losing not to mention an impact edge could help in all ways but especially maybe some turnovers.

You make some good points. I’ve been critical of the early draft picks for years. Rapp was t worth a second, I didn’t like the Akers/Jefferson picks, nobody understood the Tutu pick. But I keep getting told Snead is a draft genius. Better talent at those spots would be huge right now, even if they were all Olinemen.

BUT you also mentioned injuries twice after saying it’s not just injuries. The Oline and Secondary injuries are a major factor.

What has happened to Jordan Fuller? Is it regression?

He’s never been that good in the first place. He was a late round pick for a reason. He lacks speed and athleticism. Sure he may be really intelligent. Maybe he should be a coach instead of a player.

No it definitely has to do with injuries what I'm saying is there won't be a quick fix for the offense other than some time to heal possibly a Corbett type trade and adding Jefferson and Obj back could help but that's a lot of stuff that needs to happen.

My point was I'd invest in the defense which even with the cb shortage it's not like we are giving up 30 pts a game but we rank near the bottom in pressures and sacks I believe. Should you add that major piece you help the unit all around and the corners should come back sooner rather than later.

As far as the draft picks Akers looks bad but again the line does factor in but yes could be a wasted second rounder .....tutu looks like that may be over and he will get the bust label. Jefferson not a bust at all he is also injured and he was a solid pick and will get better unless he has tod Gurley knee.

So I'm saying the offense will take a lot more to repair especially the line healing and maybe adding a piece through a trade again alla Corbett bit that's a wait and see but the defense is a better unit add the elite edge and it helps with everything maybe get lame Offense an extra possession or two also.

Perspective..... :woozy2:
8 teams have a better record than the Rams today (not counting all the tie-breaker chit).
24 teams have a record equal to, or worse than the Rams.

Ramsey is one of the best tackling corners in the game.. maybe the best.

So he missed a tackle against maybe the hardest guy to tackle in the nfl... comparing that to Rapp

Sometimes bro you just like to argue to argue it seems like.
Read what you just wrote… and… perhaps… consider they both missed tackles on that play.
