That was not an easy play the LB was hanging all over him and Stafford had to throw the ball before Kupp was ready.
If it was a remotely catchable ball its a TD or at least PI. Was a dream matchup there. Only thing that could go wrong is a for shit pass, which is what Stafford delivered

Yup, injuries are finally catching up. Now they will realize how important depth is. Too late to do anything about it this year. So all they can do is play with what they have. One other thing, and I hope it isn't the case. They got their rings. Some guys got their money. Are they fat and content now? Is the hunger still there?

Others have already laid all of this out but I guess I will give my 2 cents afterall....

Despite no run game, an above 40% hurry rate on Stafford and getting pummeled from an almost useless interior o-line for three quarters we SHOULD have gotten a touchdown in that last trip into the redzone with multiple wide open opportunities for Stafford but he just failed. Maybe shell shock I don't know but the score should have been 17-15 with a chance at a 2 point conversion and a tie game.

Defense played well enough minus the two big plays.

End of the day, end result isn't a surprise to any of us after the past three season playing those assholes. It's not end of the season. We will be getting several o-line and d-backs back over the next month not to mention Van Jefferson which will help. Hopefully we are done with the injury bug and can heal up and kick ass down the back half of the season.

Not so sure about that. We had the 5th stringer at LG, 3rd String Center, 4th String RG, and No continuity on the O-Line because of it. Basically the same thing in the Ram's secondary. Injuries at DL don't kill you like injuries on the O-Line where continuity is SOOO important. Also, I would take a backup LT, over 3 really backup OLs, at least you can help him out with a TE. But, bottom line is both teams are beat up, and we can argue whose injuries were worse, but it doesn't matter. The Rams lost, and that L doesn't get an injury asterisk. A loss is a loss, is a loss. On to Dallas.

Bobby Evans is the weakest link on the o-line. He kept looking back at Stafford for instructions on who to block and he always get ran over by every Niner.
The looking back was part of the silent count process. He looks at Stafford, then the G signals the center.

Whiners had a journeyman center, a rookie at guard, a second year player at the the other guard position that many of their fans had labeled a bust, a back up LOT who was then replaced by another backup as T. Williams was out and their regular starting RT. Carapolo wasn't sacked one time. Tired of the excuses. This roster was put together by Mr. "F*** Them Picks" and S. McVay. Right now their decisions are biting us in the @$$

Kupp, Skow, and Higbee are playing hard. The young corners are playing hard, given the scheme. But offensive line isn't confident and Stafford feels like he has to be Superman without a run game.

Defensively, our middle zone sucks. WRs are always open in the area around Rapp, Jones, and the cb opposite of Ramsey. None of them are ever close enough to make a play on the ball, but on the other side Fred Warner is jumping every pass.

Yah but Ramsey gets paid like he's super human. He should have made the tackle IMO.
tackling deebo in that situation is near impossible - he is already impossible to tackle in a box

in the open field like that - forget it...

No Oline = No Offense

No holes for RBs
No protection for Stafford

We have weapons.

This hurts because of the opponent and the game had an all-too familiar feeling to it.
I won't admit that they have our number because we beat them when it truly mattered and we play them again in a few weeks.
A healthy squad makes this a different game.
Hoping we can get the run game going and Robinson as well.

2-2 is everything to play for.

At this point, can't we at least get McCutcheon out there to see what he can do. I know he is not the savior, but he did at least flash some good skills in preseason. It is not like he can do any worse than A Rob at this point.

OK.. here is my two cents. The defense played well. They really only gave up a couple of big plays. What irked me, however, was when the niners had a 3rd and 13. So of course Morris had them playing way off the receivers, not wanting to give up the big play. So they throw a 5-yard pass to Deebo, who is wide-fucking-open, and he takes it to the house. WTF! Why give him a head start in an open field? Bad coaching right there.

But the big problem was the offense. It probably would have been different if they didn't have so many subs in there, but the niners were dealing with the exact same thing. The difference is that the niners ATTACKED the weakened Rams o-line. Blitzes and stunts constantly, and the Rams back-ups were helpless. Why didn't Morris try doing that?

And, as everyone else has mentioned, Stafford has to start looking at other receivers. There is not reason why Kupp and Higbee should get 33 out of 48 targets.

Rant over. And I can't wait to play those fuckers again in 4 weeks.

Ramsey is one of the best tackling corners in the game.. maybe the best.

So he missed a tackle against maybe the hardest guy to tackle in the nfl... comparing that to Rapp

Sometimes bro you just like to argue to argue it seems like.

The Niners have better depth. This is the risk with the Tams Star system of trading high picks for proven stars. Maybe we are seeing the downside of this team build.

I don't though the high picks is the thing here. The niners traded 3 1st rounders for a guy not even playing but it's more the failed 2nd rounders that may cost us like tutu or I'm sorry at this point and I know there is no o-line but Akers is a failure to he was early round pick as well. We have done ok drafting I just think you need to plan a bit ....we all saw the offensive line thing coming when whit was retiring we were all skeptical and even completely healthy this line still is a bit iffy then one of our biggest problems was always getting Batman a Robin and Von did that it's obvious we need the same. Floyd injured not injured don't know but he is virtually non-existent making it even worse.
As I said in another post I go dynamic edge now to keep us afloat til the line gets healthy wait for Obj and Van and maybe add a Corbett type trade there has to be some other Rams liked like that out there they could nab for a 5th rounder or whatever they gave up for Corbett.
Again my eggs go in the defensive basket to keep us afloat until the offense gets healthy and hopefully comes together even if it means wing ugly for a while. Add that piece get the corners healthy and we could be ok 13-9 victory is better than losing not to mention an impact edge could help in all ways but especially maybe some turnovers.

Rams are doing nothing special right now. We are not going anywhere...Niners fucking own us. Can pencil in both games as L's.

This was disgusting.

The Rams are not playing good football right now.

It's not simply injuries but injuries are a big factor.

It's not as simple as the number of injuries, it's the quantity of injuries at two positions.

The Rams top-5 interior OL are all out.
That's the three starters, and top-two-reserves. The interior-OL-starters last night were the Ninth-OL (last OL on the 53-man-roster), the #3 OT and a player that is not even on the 53 if everyone is healthy. This has a major impact on the running game, play-action-game and pass-protection up the middle.

Three-of-the-top-four CBs are out. They all pretty much were injured at the same time. The 5th CB (Kendrick) was not even game-day-active before the injuries. Another player not on the 53-man-roster when everyone is healthy, is the current nickel-CB. This has a major impact on how the Rams are playing the pass.

If the Rams did not have this quantity of injuries at these two positions, Evans, Kolone, Kendrick and Haley are probably not even in uniform on game-day. Jackson is game-day-active to serve as the 3rd-OT.

And, again, injuries are not the only reason or factor.
