It looks like there is some momentum for an update to the NFL overtime rules. It's possible these changes only apply to the playoffs, where 10 of the last 12 OT playoff games have been won buy the team that won the coin flip.

I chose option one, but my real choice is to just play an overtime period of ten minutes. If they are still tied, go one more where it is one possession each minimum.
Should be 15 Minutes with both teams getting one possession. Again some drives take like 10 minutes so you have to factor that in too.

No reason to shorten the OT period to 10 mins if a FG doesn't win the game. Never understood the 10 min OT period.
I'm not sure why people are so against the college format? They should just have no kicking extra points from the very first drive. This way the game would move quick like a shootout in hockey or Soccer.
I understand the teams don't want their players on the field for 10 or 15 minutes with kickoffs etc. so this would get it moving. I think the college format is exciting. JMO

IDK, I think it's good for college, but not the NFL...What's next Ghost Runners on 2nd base? Again I have gotten used to college and it works there, but IMO I don't think that will work for the NFL FWIW.
I like the way they currently are.
Bills had ample chances to win against the Chiefs, but their D screwed up both in regulation and OT. The Bengals stopped them in OT next week.

I like giving both teams an offensive possession. Both teams get a chance with the ball during the game, but then they sometimes don't in overtime. I don't like that. There have been a few huge games with worn-down defenses where it seemed very obvious that the coin toss winner would win the game.
Imagine baseball said if the 1st team who bats scores, then the game is over. Or in hockey, if your first shooter scores in the shootout, the game is over. Not perfect comparisons, but I still see value in giving both offenses a chance in any sport.

I’m okay with the current rules, the defense gets paid too. But if we have to change them, one possession each including a kickoff and then whoever scores first.

I don’t like college. You’re in FG range after 1 first down. It’s not fair to the defenses. Driving 75 yards is a different story.
Option 1 but eliminate kickoffs and start on the 35 yard line. Also eliminate extra points. Must try for 2 if you score a TD.

Both teams should get a possession. Otherwise, the coin toss can win or lose a game. If that's what you want then just do 2 of 3 coin tosses and why play?
