I also love it how we'll log into this forum and call serious issues like bipolar disorder and schizophrenia "BS", but then grown men feel "personally attacked" hahaha wow.

What's the medical term for thick skin? Not obesity...
Funny. It seems you are having a real issue with anyone simply suggesting he may have a self induced issue. Guess there is only one possible side to this story. I don't really care if you attack me except that I will call a spade a spade. If you attack someone rather than the point at hand, I will call you on it. It has nothing to do with some weak ass thin skin defensive. It actually you have a thin skin on this and a pretty damn closed mind.

I'd certainly like to see him get help - REGARDLESS of what led up to this. Do I think it is all "just" a mental illness? No I don't. Simply put though, as much as I would have wanted Tre back as a Ram, after seeing what I have, reading what I have, and thinking about the future of our team, do I want him back in horns? No I don't. If you think that makes me somehow uncaring or a bad person, that's your deal. Anyone who actually knows me knows quite the opposite.

The guy needs help. Going to training camp at this point doesn't appear to me to be the help he needs or the team mate the Rams need heading into the season. How he gets that help is ultimately going to be first dependent on either he, his family, or his long time friends. Let's hope it doesn't take him hurting someone or himself or both. The Rams can't do it without one of them initiating it though.

Would it be better if I said, "I feel his pain"?

@RamFan503, yeah, it can pretty much happen overnight. That's why episodes used to be called "breaks" as in psychotic break cause it would just happen.

That being said, you are right that there are usually some warning signs like change in mood, more aggression, tangential thinking.

so yeah, I read a few pages of this thread and gave up.

Look guys, whether it's drugs, mental issues or what..think we could all agree that the young man needs help. Lets just keep him and his family in our thoughts and prayers (if so inclined) and hope for the best

Pretty bizarre thing the human brain. Thanks for the info. Interesting subject indeed.

You did read further Wolf, right? Any clarifications? I'm sorry that has been your experience.

Grew up being raised as a southern baptist in the southeast. I've also worked in 38 of the 48 continental states. Bigotry is rampant among "religious" folks throughout the southeast US. When you realize the fact that most southeast states have the highest obesity rates and lowest educational standards, you can see why.

I'd only caution to not jump to that conclusion here. I don't see anything here that smacks of bigotry. I can see how you would think of some comments as uncaring, including my own. But I don't think that is the case. I know it's not with mine.

I didn't even reference you in that comment, so... Okay? Good for you then.

No. Not good for me. I am a moderator here and anything I see, whether directed at me or not, I am going to comment on if it goes against what this board is about. Selassie I already cautioned about religion and politics. I jokingly may have crossed the line with the "Feel your pain" comment but equating someone's religious beliefs to bigotry is not going to just get a pass.

Wow. That's a lot of bigotry...on your part. Do you see the irony of your statements, Wolfie? You're painting with a pretty broad stroke. I believe you, that you have had bad experiences. But I don't think you're seeing the full picture.

Not to be rude. I have seen some of the same things, don't get me wrong. Lot's of judgment and self-righteousness. Not exactly Christ-like. I've been guilty myself. The Pharisees in the bible were very "superior" in their attitudes. They were some of the few people Jesus spoke to with judgment. We definitely need to a lot better job of loving. As my Pastor said Sunday, "Stop being so good at being the mouth of Jesus, and become more the heart of Jesus."

By the way, God gave us our brains for a reason. He wants us to use them to our fullest. I embrace (true) science. Science is a friend to the Christian. It reinforces our beliefs. Peace bro.

How is pointing out statistics bigotry, Snowflake? It's not. It may not be what you like to hear, but it's not bigotry. Here are the cold, hard facts:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_by_educational_attainment

http://stateofobesity.org/lists/highest-rates-adult-obesity/

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bible_Belt

Damn, look at that!

Bigotry is judging others without knowledge of their situation, like:

"No he is a selfish Narcisist. And a predator. Mason has chosen to be a pot head and to give up when faced with challenges."

"Screw him. Get him behind bars or in a facility."

"Tre Mason is a selfish young punk."

All of that without any knowledge of what Mason is going through. Shocker. What does the Bible say about judging others?

Matthew 7:1-5 - Judge not, that ye be not judged.

Luke 6:37 - Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

James 4:11-12 - Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of [his] brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.

Matthew 7:5 - Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

John 8:7 - So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

Hot damn.

But I digress, I pray to the sun for he I can't live without, and "In Reason I Trust." :)
