Kind of ironic that some suggest the Rams wont want to used draft capital for a single player when the mantra of the team has been "Eff them picks". Sure they have primarily invested draft picks on proven veteran players, but still. I think if there is a player who they want, they'll do whatever means necessary to go and get him.
Not saying they will, but it wouldnt surprise me if they did

That’s the rip of Snead’s tenure as GM. You can’t be surprised by the surprise.

Yeah probably 99.99% chance of a trade down. But Les loves to zig when we expect him to zag.

I wrote earlier in the month about trading up for OCyrus Torrence I am amending that. I do not see a need to trade up and lose any draft capital I want him and he maybe at #36, but if he goes earlier I say wait there absolutely be a great player most likely an OLB.

I honestly don't see a name that is worth trading up for. Conversely I do not want us trading down ONLY if it is 5-7 picks and there are at least 2 to 3 players we would love to have. No trade down and hope your player is there like we stupidly did in 2012 when we were set to take Bobby Wagner instead we netted a bust at RB and the extra 5th rounder was a bust at G. Same with the trade down 3 times netting us Rapp a ton of good players could have been had between #31 to 61.
Yeah, I have a hard time believing that the Rams would trade up for a OG anyways. Based on recent mocks and feel, Torrence may fall to the 2nd now anyway. 3 OL have been gaining steam recently by most accounts: Avila, Tippmann, Bergeron. They may push Torrence down even further. I've kind of started to lean Avila if we are going OL with our first pick. He's far more versatile and can play any position on the line, including center.

I prefer Schmitz but would welcome any investment they make up front. Expecting late round additions but would love to be wrong.

Missing out on an anchor for the line has been a thorn in the Rams side since the 2021 draft.

Captain Obvious point here but I suppose how much they believe in Logan Bruss will play a huge factor. We really have no idea

Same with Anchrum. He went down right after getting the starting nod.
That shit is so irritating. Nothing I find more annoying than seeing a depth piece that can't go the moment he's needed. Granted that can just be bad luck. But we've dealt with so much of that shit at RB that I am over it. If a guy can't do that job of being available as a depth piece you need new depth pieces.

Thowing any of our delicate OLine doesn't seem wise.

Whether they believe in him or not we still need a LG. Technically speaking Torrence was basically a RG.

I think we’ve sought versatility for too long. It’s time for a beast who will—instead of getting bullied—will be the bully, one that D lines will have to contend with, and that’s Torrence.

I think you may be underestimating Avila (if you are suggesting he cannot be an interior bully). Dude is a massive powerhouse, 6'3 332. Versatility doesn't discount him having power. Also, we could use a Center, so Avila makes some sense there as well, since he played mostly center at TCU.

I love Kraft. He's not in LaPorta's class in terms of his polish in the pattern. But long term he may end up being one of the best TEs from this class. He is physical, real throwback type TE. He just played at a lower level of competition so yeah he's also being slept on I believe.

Kraft at 69 would be fantastic.

Ooooomfph, I really don't see him dropping to there: I think two things will be true about this draft. Teams won't feel much pressure to take them in the 1st knowing it's a deep class and more important positions are to be had (Kincaid and Mayer prob go in 1st though) and that they're will be a run on TE's in the 2nd - but will it be at the top of the 2nd, middle or bottom? In either case, Musgrave and Kraft will be gone by then, Washington and LaPorta might still be around with the Schoonmaker as a 3rd round consolation prize.

It's been a thorn in Rams fans sides, for sure. I just feel the way things went last year, we could have had Creed Humphrey, Taylor Lewan and Trent Williams and somehow, they would have missed a ton of time!!

One annoyance I have every year is the top TE options seem to get taken before we pick in round 2. Now we're sitting near the top of round 2 in an epic TE draft but have enormous needs at Edge & Corner that trump it.

It would figure that I have to watch both LaPorta and Kraft, maybe even some others, go off the board after our pick at 36 and before 69. Or worse they're on the board at 69 and 77 and the Rams opt other directions. :laugh3:

Good to hear. They're 1-2 according to this (random) site. Torrence is bigger, and is known for run blocking (which I think is what Stafford needs the most) though.
