About our edge players opposite Floyd…

I watched both Hollins and Lewis a great deal today. Neither was effective other than first priority being sealing the edge.

But beyond that? Nada. Maybe that’s all Morris is asking of them but maybe they’re just incapable of generating serious pass rush.

In any case I’m suspecting Morris’ scheming. Sigh…

If it’s Morris’ scheming then there seems no point in trading for a stud edge because he’d be wasted.

They are absolutely non-factors in the pass game. Literally offer nothing.

Blaming Morris for his edge players sucking is certainly a take. Not one I think would stand up to any scrutiny.. but it's a take.

I get that 100% and still say there's nothing wrong with getting for years of play from a 6th round pick. Your chart says a combined roughly 20% of 6th round picks get a second contract. Some with other teams some with the team that drafts them. The Rams currently have 15 day three draft picks (5 6 and 7th round) and another 8 from round 4 that are technically also day 3 but usually considered mid round picks.

Again I get the chart and I don't see a problem with 20% of 6th round picks. Those are valuable roster pieces for depth and the occasional starter not to mention special teams contributions. Hell the chart has 2nd round picks only twice as likely to get a 2nd contract with their drafting team.
So you do understand what's being posted, you just feel like creating a Strawman argument to bait somebody into a losing argument?

:thumbsup1:

I'm to the point where we should just hold still. Unless you get Chubb or Burns and are GUARANTEED to get them an extension, don't do anything wild. Due to injuries and misjudgements at OL and EDGE, it just isn't our year.

Get ready to reload.

And what's concerning is they aren't taking advantage of the "Donald Effect" on the DL.

Rams gave the blueprint and it's a copycat league. Gonna be harder to pull good trades off for us because teams that feel they are a player or so away will trade away high draft picks based on our success from last year. We changed the game in that department.
Yeah...because no one ever did that before until McSnead did it.......LMAO

No, no one has done it like the Rams where they trade away all their 1st round picks to the point where they haven't had one in years. Us doing that and having success has made teams more brazen. LMAO to what I said shows you obviously aren't paying attention to that part, but it's ok, it's early as shit lol

No, No, NO!

Tomorrow, we are going to acquire Brian Burns, Bradley Chubb, Laremy Tunsil, Quenton Nelson, Brandin Cooks, Alvin Kamara and Kareem Hunt ... and sign OBJ damn it!!!

Well, There goes the Rams next 25 years of 1st Round Picks (Who needs them?!)!

9ers getting consistent pressure without loading the box, Rams cant any semblance up the middle, and the edge is non existent

The problem is:

Years of mid round picks on the Oline. No true all pro types which are usually had by first round picks or even a second *cough Creed cough*

McVay’s run schemes only work with a specific type of back. A great back like Gurley who could do it all, or prime Akers. Aside from that he searches for unicorns. He needs to simplify the run game.

Staley is better at coaching disciplined defensive football than Morris is. Unfortunately, even if Staley becomes available we will be stuck with Morris. Nobody is hiring him.

No realistic trades can fix these problems. Sure maybe a Kareem Hunt can put a band aid over them but the wound will stay opened.

Is it time to sell off? I can’t see McVay tanking and relying on Snead’s early round drafting to right the ship in the near future. He will ride it out and keep blaming himself.

Well, get ready…

I do really think that there is resentment in trading with the Rams so whether it be Burns or Chubb, I dunno if we have a shot short of overpaying. We’re a victim of our own success in that regard.

Taking Cooks means that OBJ wasn’t coming back and we don’t want to head in to the playoffs with a depleted WR corps.

I’d prefer Chubb and Hunt, but I think if we get anyone it’ll be Cooks and that’s it.

Not thrilled, but it is what it is.
Awfully optimistic to include the word playoffs in your thoughts.

I said it a week ago, odds are they make no trade. I’m sure they are trying hard. But they have limited assets this time around. Plus other teams see the blueprint of trading and going for it. It’s probably 60-40 against. I think we’ll see something- maybe small maybe big. But it’s also very entirely possible we get shut out.

Years of mid round? Well maybe for the current starters in the first game except for Shelton but all our depth except Evans are either 7th round or UDFA

I believe that half of our depth should also be at minimum mid round picks.

And yes - I agree with you that we should have taken at least one or two OL in the second round in the last 4 years. I know I know - we didn't have a second round pick this year.
