As good as McCaffery is I can’t imagine a team giving up multiple #1 picks! High price for a RB with injury issues (At least in my humble opinion!).
Agreed not even one now way

I can't imagine the Rams riding out the season with Hendo, brown and rivers. Can you?

No, but I do believe there will be less expensive alternatives, however I'd like to get whoever it is soon, ... so he can be ready for S.F. jmo.

They need a lineman, probably two.
Aboushi did well enough that I expect to see him at RG for the rest of the season as long as he doesn't get hurt.
Can they find someone to play LG? I guess Shelton could.. but that's still a ways off.. and I'm doubtful Edwards is coming back...

That would be the biggest need, right now, I think.

Oh.. and they don't have a backup left tackle.

Agree on Aboushi, hope he gets his shot against the 49'ers. Shelton played LG last year in a limited role while filling in for Edwards and did quite well imo. Chandler Brewer was a back-up to Whitworth a couple years ago at LT, also had very limited snaps, but appeared to hold his own, he can also back-up both OG positions if necessary. While Skura has mostly played Center, he also has experience at both OG positions. I don't know this as fact, but I assume Arcuri gets both RT and LT snaps during practice.
Even with all this, I suspect that McVay isn't done with Evans yet. jmo.

And.. as much as I'd love for there to be some miracle waiting in a trade.. Just scouring depth charts makes me think.. well.. no, that's not happening.

If Allen is healthy for the next game.. that's one big plus.

As much as we all hate Evans... left guard is probably the dude's worst position. But.. is it possible he didn't suck as much today? Maybe game experience at LG is lifting him to... "not a disaster"????
A man can dream.

Evans was our bottom feeding offensive lineman thru our first 4 games, carrying an accumulated PFF score of 29.8, I don't want him anywhere near that 49'er Defense any time soon. Against the Cowboys in game 5 he had 12 snaps, not much to grade on. I'll be curious to see his grades for Carolina, although they can't help but be somewhat better. jmo.

I think they'll be way better.. mid-50s, I'd think.
I don't know enough to truly evaluate... I do know on last scoring drive he got out in space and got hands on a Panther and created space for a bigger play.

Who knows? just not being the worst guard in the league would be a big help.

My fear is that if Shelton returns they'll put him back at RG and keep Evans at LG, ... my hope is that Aboushi stays at RG and Shelton takes over at LG.

Oh.. and they don't have a backup left tackle.

A month ago, I pushed-back on a poster that wanted the Rams to pursue veteran-LT Eric Fisher primarily because I could not see Fisher having any interest in joining the Rams to back-up Noteboom, whom the Rams were committed to at LT. However, now I would love that type of signing (assuming Fisher is healthy).

Even with Alaric ('don't call me A.J.') Jackson the likely starter at LT, he may still be needed at G at some point.

If Brian Allen is back at Center in 13 days, and Jackson is at LT, the likely Guards are Evans and Aboushi, with Matt Skura in reserve. The back-up LT (as you appropriately brought-up) is probably Evans; or Havenstein slides over and Evans plays RT.

I just scared myself with that!

Hunt would be my pick. Him and hendo would be a nice one two punch. And he's probably somewhat affordable

Conundrum it is!~ Just getting LG #71 out as a starter & back as an active game reserve would be my top priority from this point on.

It's not easy when McVay/Carberry appears blind as to #71 overall game effectiveness. This lone single OL entity #71 causes me to begin to question both of their judgments.

In order to get #71 out of the starting unit we need Chandler Brewer to win over the two above coaches & it's obvious both coaches like #71. Coleman Shelton might be out of the lineup much longer than many expect. It seems highly likely Shelton will miss the all-important 9ers gm.

That leaves 5th yr center Brian Allen who is a constant injury-prone starter that simply can not be depended on to remain healthy enough to be effective on the field. Allen has only finished 18 gms as a starter since he arrived in 2018. Center Matt Skura is healthy but new to this offense. That's it.

It's wonderful :hug:to have won Sunday in order to just get back 500 but I would reframe from getting involved in all this load chest pounding after the win over a team that might be the worst overall team in the NFL. They just fired their HC 5 week into the season.

My beloved Ram team has resolved very little the RB situation is trending south fast with the new hit information on our former top 2020 draft selection Cam Akers
& the loss of another starting OL'er for the season, which will ensure #71 will remain an OL starter way into the imperceptible future.

There's no a whole lot to replace when referring to Akers from a production stand point.
Henderson gets the bulk of the PT going forward, Kyren Williams was said to be out 6-8 weeks, which means he should getting ready for action and can give the Rams some fresh legs soon. If Williams isnt looking ready, then for sure its possible they could could make a trade, there are some guys out there on expiring contracts who could be moved.
Of course there are other teams with RB issues as well
