Not once have I posted anything about being solely excited for minorities to get hired just to get picks. That's the NFL that makes up these rules so thats a bone you need to pick with them. I hope coaches get hired because they earned it as those guys all put in work to be better at their craft. I normally don't get into about these kind of posts, but man are you full of shit. I was hoping this shit was a cruel joke but sadly it doesn't seem so. I'm a minority myself so this makes this shit even worse coming at me like that unwarranted earlier. Your observations are way off.
I think most fans realize our coaches will get poached anyway so at least its a plus that we can get something for them.

It's talking out of both sides of the mouth that annoys me. Sorry but you cannot say somebody is bad at their job, which when you say he always gets fleeced in trades you're doing, and appreciate the job he does.

His job is very simple. He has to build a team that can win through free agency, trades and the draft.

Plain and simple no ifs ands or buts about it we are a successful team because of his ability to do his job. Is he perfect no he's not and I've never said he was. But the vehemence and the negativity associated with him being "always fleeced" is just plain inaccurate and it's disrespectful.

Sorry if I think the guys done a great job in building this team we love to root for I'll drop it and let people talk out of both sides of their mouth. Go ahead and talk shit about him and pat him on the back in one motion if that's the way you (not you specifically) think about him.
Dang, it really isn't even that serious that you got me laughing now. Look man, I can't assume so I hope you are not putting me in what you described as Snead doing a bad job but there is nothing wrong with thinking he could have got more but still liking the players you got. I distinctly remember when we traded for Ramsey and one of my buddies was like damn y'all traded a lot. I was like, its too much for my liking but if it works out, fuck it. I'm literally like that with pretty much all trades. Love Snead regardless because he's steered this ship right more times by far than not. Its literally just an observation some folks have noticed of how Snead functions in terms of trade compensation. OldSchool, you're a legit good ass poster bro so don't let that shit bother you too much. At the end of the day, we added a dope ass CB and hopefully Snead gets more players to help us win another Lombardi. Look forward to seeing more of your posts.

I think if the Rams were not in a win now mode, with a 38 yr old QB, Snead may have offered a little less. Instead they had a severe need on a SB caliber team, and they made sure he addressed it.

BTW, the last time they added a 26 yr old stud CB, they gave up two #1's and a #4. So how much of an over pay is this when they gave up picks 29, 168, 206... and maybe a pick in the 90's next year?
Honestly its not the biggest deal in the world if Snead felt its what he needed to do. We got us a legit CB1 so zero complaints about the player we got. I think the fact that he wants to capitalize on Stafford's time cuz of his age is a spot on assessment so that definitely makes sense. Snead is just a no bullshit will get it done GM and I love him for that even if I think its just a slight overpay initially. If it works out the way we all want it to, who cares about the 3rd in the long run :laugh4:.....about that Ramsey trade, Snead did what he had to do to get Ramsey. I thought it was an overpay then too but as I put in another post, one of my work buddies asked me about it and I was like that's not what I would have done but if it works out fuck it hahaha

The decision to go after a veteran all pro CB via trade instead of gambling on a rookie is the right move even if you overpay a bit.

Imagine if we get another veteran CB and then land Safety Downs in the draft.

Our secondary could be massively improved.

We just need Mcvay to concede the weak prevent scheme.

Man we need get away from that prevent faster than QBs tried to get away from AD :laugh4:

To win a Super Bowl?

I was being snarky, to be clear.

Worth every pick.
Snarky is good ... big fan of Snarky.

I was just pointing-out that the Rams gave one of those two draft choices for Von Miller.

The OTHER draft choice was sent to Denver as compensation for the Broncos paying Miller's remaining salary. There was about $9.5M, in salary, remaining for the period from the trade to the end of the 2021 season.

Thing is, the Rams did not have the cap space to take-on Miller's remaining salary.
So Denver agreed to pay about $9M in exchange for an additional draft pick.

As far as I know, it was never clear which of the two draft choices were for Miller vs. covering the salary.

Love the move. I give the trade an B+ or A-. It's right on that line for me, as even though the value is more or less fair, that's still a lot of assets to give up for a player needing a new contract.

CB is a major position of weakness on this team. We just got one of the best in the game. It is concerning that the stats appear to suggest he does not excel outside, but you cannot be mad at getting at top 5 CB, who is 25 years of age, for a package that essentially is the 20th overall pick, when you are in win now mode, and keep your own 13th overall selection. I also love that he can tackle, which for me, is a must-have in a corner. I cannot stand CBs that are pure ball hawks and complete liabilities if ever needed to defend a run.

I hope the rumors about making him the highest paid CB in the league are untrue. He elite. But not the best CB in the NFL. So he should not be paid like it. Paying someone just because they are the next man due for a contract is a stupid trend that needs to end. It's even stupider for non QBs that don't have the same positional scarcity. His stats on the outside aren't great, and he's 5'11", so we could still use a bigger body back there. And we haven't seen him play a snap in our system. With his smarts, I am not too concerned about that, but still.

Like the player, but not overly thrilled on giving up one of our 1st round picks.

I feel there are other comparable CB's in FA we could have picked up without giving up any draft picks.

I'd pass on McCreary now and look for a bigger CB.
I gotta believe they keep one of Durant or McCreary. If that’s accurate which does this forum prefer?
Updated:
Durant projected at $10m/year
McCreary at $6.2m/year

Where would McDuffie be slotted in this upcoming draft, especially knowing he’s a sure thing?

Then, sitting at #29… how much would it cost to move up and get him?

It feels like we got a fair deal.

That said… I sure hope we somehow nab an offensive weapon with that #13… but no doubt the Rams will stress me out on a trade down.

Trade down a bit to get Omar Cooper and another draft pick. My guess is Cooper goes end of R1.

Proposed trade/draft scenario:
Trade R1.13 to HOU for R1.28 & R2.38.
Omar Cooper WR IND @R1.28.
Chris Johnson CB SDST @R2.38.
