IMO, they're mostly done.

McDuffie
Forbes
Darious Williams
Wallace

In addition to suggesting they could trade for an all-pro, Snead in his interview yesterday, suggested that player development could also be where improvement came from. I suspect that refers to Forbes.

I'm betting they draft a CB or two late and that's your reshaping.
D Williams is gonna get cut.

They need another very good CB - whether via FA or 13, 61. Plus a mid or late round developmental guy too.

the trade comp is perfectly fine. Us getting him instead of someone else was NOT an option.

What I don’t like is paying him 30M/year. He’s not worth that. But that’s the NFL and what needs to be done I guess.

We have extra day 3 picks and I'd anticipate we get a comp picks for Scheelhaase next year. This makes sense and Les basically told us yesterday this was going to happen.
Les always gives you something in his interviews. It's why I always watch him when he's on. Also it's why I never watch McVay's interviews, because he's one sand baggin bastid.

The structure of that contract is going to be crucial and telling on what we can actually accomplish in FA. Fuckin Brinks trucks going to be busy driving to the Rams home office.

Didn't like reading this

I read this about 3 weeks ago and was hoping they wouldn't trade for McDuffie for a obvious reasons.

Unless the Rams are wanting to penny up mega $$$ next year he will be a one year rental. His production really slid this last year due to him playing mostly outside, which doesn't bode well for the rams as they have the slot covered by Lake, unless they plan on switching him to Safety.

I don't like giving up a first round pick for a rental player, and I definitely don't like giving up multiple picks for player that seems to have slipped in production at one of the most important positions on Defense.

I would have liked them to pursue Dean but hell, what do I know?

I just hope we get better results than we did with Peters.

I swear, people like you don’t care if our coordinators and position coaches are any good as long as they are black.
Wtf are you talking about? People like me? GTFO with that bullshit. I don't give 2 fucks if the coaches are purple, fuscia, or martians. Sorry but you don't know shit about me to say some stupid shit like that. I really hope you are just fucking around with that comment.

This is an example of the Rams betting on the player, based no doubt on Jimmy Lake knowing him so well.

I imagine the Rams will use him in that star role. But generally speaking if he ends up mostly in the slot then it will end up being a bit of an overpay. An overpay due to them knowing the player and wanting that specific player.

On the positive side the corner room instantly looks a ton better. We actually have a matchup option now, where we didn't have jack shit prior. And McDuffie's a pro. So if he plays his ass off for us and can stay healthy, Rams will come out of this just fine and may end up hoisting a Lombardi before Stafford's done.

For the Chiefs this is a good trade. Because that pick at 29 comes at a point in the draft where there's going to be a lot of real nice corner options. So they may get his replacement done right there with that first pick, and still have more to play with later on down the road.

And for those offended by the mere mention of calling it an overpay, simmer down. Sometimes you gotta do that to get a guy you want. This basically tells us they may not have liked something about Dean. But we'll need to sit through FA to know for sure, based on who they pursue, if they do, at corner. I think it's possible to finish the room up now with a little FA and then a pick, or no FA and a pick in our top three selections. But overall I get why they did this and look forward to seeing him in horns.

We'll see.

The impression I got yesterday from Snead's interview was that they could trade for a CB, they're gonna make some scheme changes, and they're gonna expect some internal development. Based on that and based on their history, I don't think they're gonna try to stack that room with two very good CBs. I'd be very surprised now if they use a very early pick on the position.

But maybe that's just me...

If paying less for a better and younger CB than Ramsey is an overpay sign me up for more. I like All Pros on our team. This is less than the Colts paid for Sauce.

I'll just say this because its so hard to get context across on posting online. I'm not overworked about the trade at all but just giving my honest knee jerk reaction. I also keep saying oh well because it really means doo doo what I think since the Rams most definitely don't ask my opinion nor should they since I'm only a fan. I just like discussing all this because I get to hear so many takes on what people think about the trade and why. There's always something said I may not have taken into account as well. Once again, love the player and the fact that our secondary is finally being addressed. We are most definitely aiming for thar Lombardi this year at SoFi.
