Think Snead could have sent all that compensation with a 2nd instead of our 1st since KC was up against the cap pretty bad.
I don't agree with that my friend.

The Rams' 2nd is the 61st overall pick.
I believe the 5th is in the late-160s and the 6th is in the low-200s.
The 2027 third round pock will probably be in the upper-80s or 90s.

I think Kansas City could have done a lot better than that with a number of other trade partners.

For example, the dopey Jets have four picks in the top-45, and need a CB ... and have a ton of cap space.
The Jets could have offered the 44th overall pick for McDuffie, and that would have probably exceeded the above suggestion of the Rams' Second Round pick, plus the other (lesser) compensation being enough.

Just don't see how the Rams very-late 2nd Round pick would have gotten a deal done.

With this being a trade, there is one less high priced FA to spend money on, so they will likley get more comp picks next year for Durant, Curl, and possibly McCreary. Still wouldn't mind keeping McCreary. I think he has a little more size and willingness to tackle than Durant.

You don't know what other teams were offering.
Thank you. How do you criticize what they gave away without knowing those other offers? It wasn't two #1 picks and a good WR like the Colts paid for Sauce Gardner (who is being paid $30M/yr. for 4 years). And McDuffie is the better all-around CB (better on run and blitz and can play slot).

Well that's why I said either that or don't have the 3rd in the deal. Also highly doubt the Jets would trade for McDuffie after trading away Sauce.

I don't like that we gave up more than anticipated. This is exactly what I was talking about with Snead. He's too generous with picks imo. No way a 3rd for next year should have been included. Oh well, McDuffie is here. Our second should be much improved next year.

A first and 3rd next year is hardly an over pay for a 25 year old all pro corner. Remember what we gave up for the last all pro corner?

The 5th and 6th will be recouped.

5th and 6th I didn't even mention lol..... I'll keep repeating myself I guess. Either make the 1st a 2nd instead or don't include the 3rd. KC was not going to extend McDuffie as they didn't have the cap to do so. Rams should have taken better advantage of that situation. Happy to have the player, just a bit let down by the compensation we provided. Ah well lol

Well, who says we were the only one inquiring? You can’t underbid for a player of his caliber or you lose out. It’s possible that there were multiple teams in talks.

Still think its an overpay. Highly doubt the Rams lose out if they didn't include the 3rd but honestly keep saying oh well because it really doesn't matter what anyone thinks as he's a Ram. Let's hope he balls out this year because last year was a down year for him. With that said, still think he's a hell of an upgrade versus last year.

It’s a bit steep price to pay, but I see us trading back and recouping a pick in late 2nd or early 3rd round equivalent of this draft. We’ll probably end up somewhere in the late teens or early 20s and I’d like to see us select Chris Johnson.
