Lol....Damn bro, just respond to my post. I'm the only one saying anything about the 2nd (unless I missed it which is always possible). I also said or don't include the 3rd. I get why we made the trade, love the player, love the aggressive move to improve, just think its an overpay that didn't need to happen to acquire the player.People who complain that the Rams should’ve sent the Chiefs their 2nd round pick, please do remember that their 2nd rd pick was a late second round pick, so the Chiefs in no way would’ve chosen to do that. Plus their 29th pick was only 4 picks away from being in the 2nd rd.
Well, technically it would be a 2028 3rd round pick if we lose him, alas....We'll get that 3rd back when we lose Scheelhaase next offseason
Good pointWell, technically it would be a 2028 3rd round pick if we lose him, alas....
100%I don't agree with that my friend.
The Rams' 2nd is the 61st overall pick.
I believe the 5th is in the late-160s and the 6th is in the low-200s.
The 2027 third round pock will probably be in the upper-80s or 90s.
I think Kansas City could have done a lot better than that with a number of other trade partners.
For example, the dopey Jets have four picks in the top-45, and need a CB ... and have a ton of cap space.
The Jets could have offered the 44th overall pick for McDuffie, and that would have probably exceeded the above suggestion of the Rams' Second Round pick, plus the other (lesser) compensation being enough.
Just don't see how the Rams very-late 2nd Round pick would have gotten a deal done.
McDuffie himself was drafted 21st overall, in 2022. Plus he's proven. What the Rams dealt in terms of draft value pretty much amounts to the 21st or 22nd selection in the draft.
Unless the rules have changed it would be 2027 & 2028.Well, technically it would be a 2028 3rd round pick if we lose him, alas....
Arent the picks awarded for the year following the promotion?Unless the rules have changed it would be 2027 & 2028.
We already know they're negotiating an extension.I’m positive that the Rams are not just trading for McDuffie as a one year rental, and probably have agreed on the parameters of an extension already.
That year and the following year.Arent the picks awarded for the year following the promotion?
Yeah FA gonna be interesting as hell. Are the Rams going to go get another CB to lock down that room? I think its definitely a possibility as Snead was talking about going into the draft with pretty much no glaring weaknesses. We are in for a treatNow what I'm curious about now is how this shapes the rest of the FA period and what we do with the 13th pick.
This trade gives us so many options now.
However, if he does sign a long term deal at a projected 30M a year, that does change things for free agency/CAP depending on the type of deal signed.
