See someone gets what I was saying about Snead and his trading. Not that I don't like the player, the trade, just not a fan of how he offers too much. Chiefs were smart to extract that 3rd from us. That's the only part I'm not a fan of. However with all that said, it doesn't matter lol..... Welcome to the Rams McDuffie! You better ball out for us!
When compared to other CBs being traded for two 1sts, this is not an overpay. McDuffie isn't Ramsey or Sauce Gardner, but he's right under that level. Two premium picks isn't surprising. It's this year's 5th that annoys me.

Well okay then. Admittedly I don’t know how good McDuffie is. Former all pro? Young.

Hopefully he seriously impacts our secondary. A little bit of an overpay but that’s to be expected I guess.

It's an overpay when the team trading away the player can't afford the contract extension. We should have given up less but its a done deal so ...

Now sign Jamel Dean
IMO, they're mostly done.

McDuffie
Forbes
Darious Williams
Wallace

In addition to suggesting they could trade for an all-pro, Snead in his interview yesterday, suggested that player development could also be where improvement came from. I suspect that refers to Forbes.

I'm betting they draft a CB or two late and that's your reshaping.

You're assuming their backs were against the wall or something. What determines more than that is the market. If there were other offers - given that he's an all-pro there most certainly were - that's what's going to drive price.

Think Snead could have sent all that compensation with a 2nd instead of our 1st since KC was up against the cap pretty bad. We kinda bailed them out plus Snead saying he was willing to trade a 1st didn't help negotiations in my opinion. Just don't think we should have given a 1st when McDuffie is gonna require a new contract that pays him massively since CBs ain't cheap nowadays.
I think you may have too much focus on the round vs. the number of the selection.

The 29th selection is on par with a 2nd round choice in terms of value like the 61st selection is on par with a 3rd round choice.

What the Rams dealt in terms of draft value pretty much amounts to the 21st or 22nd selection in the draft.

Williams is history. 7.5M cap savings.

I would think Williams is gone, cap savings of $7.5 million if he is cut. He seemed to struggle health wise and usually only played due to several other injuries towards the end.
Maybe. I've always maintained that they may not cut him and if they did it would only be after they got more bodies in the room. So far, they haven't cut him and the Rams typically like to cut players early to give them a chance elsewhere.

I agree that it still could happen.

You don't know what other teams were offering.

I think they have until 5th day of league year to cut him to not get a bonus so we'll find out here soon enough. I wouldn't be surprised to them cutting him and then signing him back for a smaller one year deal later down the road if they don't get enough bodies by camp and no one else signs him.

What a great trade. F them picks - IF you get a great player for the utmost need!
Now I'm hoping for another very good CB in free agency and then getting the best player at #13.
I don't want a rookie CB for a team that wants a Super Bowl this year, so get a FA CB.
I know others say they'll trade down with #13, but NOT if they are really "all-in." Get a stud WR or OL.

Excellent call. I can see that too.
