Really good trade for us. We get a proven corner for some picks. He can cover and is a violent tackler. Good blitzer too. 1st step in putting the secondary together for this season. Lake and McDuffie are the first pieces put in place. Snead will draft another corner or two in a deep class.

No way to know for sure but I always thought they're inquiries were to appease the coach.

Hahaha, I'm sure there's an element of this!
 
Much has been said about McDuffie playing mostly in the slot. However, that is not accurate.

Here is where he has lined up since being drafted.

2025: 479 wide snaps, 179 slot
2024: 953 wide snaps, 152 slot
2023: 368 wide snaps, 608 slot
2022: 536 wide snaps, 247 slot

He only played the majority of snaps in the slot for one year, but he's excelled in coverage and run support every year.

He's truly multidimensional.

We lost close games so one pass defense would have changed the outcomes.
And what if he had played ST and had tackled the returner on that play?
 
We got a proven all pro corner. Now sign Alontae Taylor and draft Makai Lemon at 13. We'd have two good to great corners who can tackle and a tough wide receiver with great hands. That would be my dream off-season.
