I heard Brady was considering playing in the USFL. Granted, I heard it from the voices on my head, but they’re sometimes right.
Which one is telling you this Sybil? (if course blue font)

I think @Elmgrovegnome is on to something here. Brady is such an ego maniac, he wants every record there is. So there's one record left that he shares with Peyton Manning. They both won Superbowls with 2 teams.
Maybe Brady is thinking he wants to be the only player to win with 3 different teams???
Wouldnt shock me

Okay. For a rare moment I got unlazy and looked....

THREE first round picks and a third to move up last year.

Can't imagine anything else than they have him starting this next year.

Do they have a legitimate choice?
Imagine the pain if he busts after giving up all that. :ROFLMAO:

Yeah no kidding.

Trying to remember a trade like that in a draft that brought in a franchise player.

I think Tom understands there is a new Sheriff in town. His name is Aaron Donald. If Brady goes to SF he’ll just get cuffed and stuffed. I don’t see him going to SF because it’s a lot of exposure to AD and our vicious pass rush (should we keep our present DL.)

Don’t do it, Tom. Don’t come back. This isn’t a game for senior citizens. We don’t want you to, God forbid, break a hip. It’s a great time to stay retired. Trust me.

I think the team to watch out for would be the Colts. They have a great run game. Really strong defensive roster. High picks to trade for him too unlike SF.

Tom knows the value of a skilled roster. Have to think they're the type of team that would go get him, if he's willing to consider coming back for another good situation.

I believe Brady was referring to the 69ers and Jimmy Gstring when he made the comment last year about “and they are going with that mfer”. So his ego and addiction to attention keeps him interested but if he were smart he wouldn’t poke the bear (e.g. Rams defense) otherwise his exit from the NFL may not be so graceful as just a bloody lip and bruised ego.

Brady goes to Tampa and says, look, I can retire and then you have a gaping hole at qb, or you can trade me to the niners for Jimmy g and have yourself a solid starter. If I'm tampa, I take that deal. Maybe demand a 2nd round pick as well.

SWAdude,
You mean someone like Jared Goff? Yeah, we got scorched in that one but fortunately Les and the crew pulled our fat out of the fire with the Matty Staff trade.
Trader Les doin' his magic folks!!!

Yeah Tom would fit perfectly in that offense. It would be terrible to watch for us because they'd be a lot better. I think if SF gets Stafford last offseason they would have won it all. But he's not as good a fit for that offense as Tom is. Tom's love of the underneath and patience would suck ass (for us) paired with Shanny.
Unfortunately the Niners are a perfect fit for either Brady or Rodgers. Let's hope Brady stays retired and Rodgers sticks with the Packers or goes to the Broncos. Don't want to see either of them in the NFC West.

And Tampa would still have a gaping hole at QB.....
Found this nugget interesting on sportrac:
"2022 salary fully guarantees 2/18/2022, voids with retirement"
So if the contract is void, does Tampa retain his rights? Or is he an UFA??

Retirement probably means he wouldn't be able to play in 2022.. if he tries to return this year he is likely under tampas control.

Well, not so sure. If his contract is voided, he's no longer under contract.
Just strange to see a retirement provision like that, along with the voidable years to help spread out the dead cap money.

So where are these Brady to SF rumors coming from? Mike Foolio mentioned it. But he's not exactly an Adam Schefter or Jay Glazer when it comes to rumors. Most the rumors are coming from message boards. Arians said he would be shocked if Brady changed his mind about retirement. And the Bucs want him to return to them if he did in fact change his mind.

Foolio is spreading it a bit - that's pretty much it. Looooong off-season with not much to talk about means these stories get traction!

Brady would want multiple offensive weapons. The Colts have two.

I'm guessing there's some language in their contract to prevent Brady from saying he's retiring only to change his mind a few months later so he can play on another team.
