A few media takes here: Arians runs a loose ship and Brady quietly complained about it this year. Also, while Arians would rehab his Achilles with the trainer, Leftwich and Brady would work out the offensive game plans only to have Arians come up later and red ink most of their plan. Some are painting a picture of Brady's retirement being all about being unhappy with Bruce in Tampa.
Eric Mangini has his doubts about Lance. He wonders why Shanahan didn't have certain packages for Lance to run in live games. He lost valuable experience, and doesn't Kyle think he was competent enough to do it reliably?
My take: Brady has hinted about maybe not being 100% retired. Tampa Bay owns him. I wonder if he's thinking that if Arians suddenly retires then he'd return to the Bucaneers if they hired Leftwich as the head coach. He can't just go anywhere he wants without the Bucs getting trade compensation. He has to be aware of that. Lets say he gets the Bucs to talk trade. The Niners don't have any first round picks in the next two years. Denver could be a possibility I guess. I doubt he goes to the Colts due to lack of weapons. Maybe the Steelers but they are not usually actively looking to trade picks. There was a story about Cleveland looking for options for a veteran QB. Maybe they make a play for Brady. He wouldn't cost as much as Wilson, Watson or Rodgers. They could trade Mayfield to the Bucs for his final year. If Brady were to go to the Browns and got them to a Superbowl it would be a huge story.
