I will agree with what you are saying. IMO, the trade up for Fiske last draft was more going for a player they targeted more than a player they may or may not have had a first round grade on.Lol
Im saying the same thing over and over. It started with you who made a circular argument.
Its simple, the Rams will either draft somebody at #26, or they wont. Can we agree on that?
If NO, then there isnt anything left to say
If YES, then I'll repeat the same dang thing.
If they draft a player at 26, it will be a guy they like, regardless of what some feel the draft value is.
That’s what makes trying to predict which players they will draft so difficult. They prioritize things like character, leadership, love for the game, and tenacity. I find very little info on which players exemplify those traits more so than the rest of them.I will agree with what you are saying. Also, what I see in the collaboration between Snead and McVay is a balance of targeting players they want based on scheme or philosophy versus players based on the traditional "sticking to your Board rankings". Seems that Snead lets McVay point them in a certain direction early in the Draft. And, Snead does all he can to accommodate his wish along with giving options if they lose out on given player. And then I see McVay taking a back seat in the mid-rounds to Snead and the scouts. They all talk about who is the best fit, but still McVay tends to leave the decision making to Snead on all the other picks. Again, just my opinion....that's what I get from seeing the post draft coverage of their War room in recent Drafts.
Rams met with TE Thomas Fidone II ( Nebraska - ProDay) 6'5" 243 lbs - 4.70/40 - 36 rec 373 yards
PFF grade for 2024 was 65 ...... he moves pretty good for his size on the highlight video but his Run blocking is inconsistent ; some games he was graded above 70 and some in the mid-40's
