God damn, I need to become either meteorologist or a sports writer. You don't have to be accurate at all and create a cult following that will defend you like you grew up together. smh

Even with the abundance of top tight end talent available in the upcoming draft, Sportskeeda NFL Insider Tony Pauline is reporting that top tight end prospect Tyler Warren, who hails from Penn State, is getting a lot of attention from NFL teams. His recent article suggests that Warren has been invited to work out privately for:
  • New York Jets | 7th overall pick
  • Indianapolis Colts | 14th overall pick
  • Los Angeles Chargers | 22nd overall pick
  • Los Angeles Rams | 26th overall pick
  • Chicago Bears | 10th overall pick
  • New Orleans Saints | 9th overall pick

I love Warren and he'd be a monster in this offense. Zero doubt in my mind. But I would not trade up to the ten range for him, just too prohibitive in cost. Of course if they do that I will be fully behind it.

What I'd do is offer Indy a third round pick (with an additional pick as required next year) for Pierce. He's a good sized wideout with legit juice but more importantly will attack the ball in the air. Can stretch the field. He would give us a true 3 deep attack with Nacua, Adams, Pierce. Then draft a TE like let's say Ferguson with that other third rounder and you have a top offense that will be very hard to stop.

It's the umpteenth rumor for teams trading up for some player. Disappointed I clicked this post.

I'm not sure I would rate receiver as an area of need. There are plenty of teams that would love a tandem like Puka and Adams. Some rate them among the best pair in the league.
These are the offensive positions the Rams have met with so far this offseason. Can we read much into it? If we can then Receiver is a likely target along with TE and QB. Three positions with Vets nearing the end of their contracts.

From what I’ve seen Warren has only had one good season.

1,200 & 110 catches.
Other 3 years 600 yards ?
No thanks & does anyone know his 40 ???

I've been reading just the opposite, I've read he's great getting off the line of scrimmage and is fluid in his hips and shoulders and is terrific in space and is a polished route runner. Now his blocking needs a lot of help which is surprising since he played at Michigan and for Harbaugh a couple of years.

The question is, how many of these TEs can block as well as Kupp? Loveland's scouting profiles suggest that he'll never be more than an average blocker.
In class that’s supposed to be deep in TEs, what makes these guys so much better than the field? Why are they the only TEs worthy of a 1rst round pick? Are THEY legit 1rst rounders?

I still like Taylor better.

My reading of the tea leaves is that the offense will be getting the premium draft talent.
Incidentally this is the defensive positions. But, if recent history is an indicator they are all likely to be later round picks or UDFA’s

Defense (7)

  • Inside linebacker - (3)
  • Cornerback - (2)
  • Safety - (2)

Loveland and Warren are superior pass-catching options. I like Warren because he's the most well-rounded. And I'm with you, I like Taylor a lot too. He's probably my next highest TE after Warren because he's an all-around TE too. I see him being a good Higbee replacement.

Most of the top Tight Ends in this draft have small hands for the position. None of the top guys are considered exceptional blockers either. One of the better all round tight ends that is rated pretty highly as a blocker is Josh Simon from South Carolina.

If the Rams are looking at a Higbee type who blocks as well as he catches, then Simon could be that guy. He’s projected as a late round pick. The way he moves reminds me of that TE Fisher brought in years ago, Jared Cook.

He’s 6’-5” 239 lbs. He’s got bigger hands, a huge wingspan. Plus Snead has plucked talent from South Carolina in the past.

I saw UDFA but it was pointed out to me that many sites have different projections. There aren’t many blocking tight ends in this draft that move as well as he does, even if he does seem a bit unbalanced at times.

And that’s what the idea is, isn’t it?
—find a replacement for Higbee. Someone who can do all of the things he does/did. Now if a younger, more athletic guy comes along who can not only do all of those things but better…
well then the Rams have something, don’t they?

I know some of these prospects are showing some great skills, but just how well rounded are they? That is what has made Higbee a tough guy to replace.
