Knowing our luck there will be a run on TEs in the second half of round 1 and we'll come out of the biggest TE draft in memory without one. That's just how shit goes for the Rams historically at TE. Something always aligns to prevent us from getting one of these guys.

Though I do consider Kupp to be an honorary TE.

But if that happens I suppose there should be one hell of a good defender on the board for us. So again and in spite of my desire to see this team make it happen at TE the most important thing is finding impact players. This is what we lack on both sides of the ball.
Some good TE out of the 1st round too

Higbee looked great when he came back, completely changed the offense, and I do believe this is the last year on this contract. He is injury prone and inconsistent, but I would be comfortable rolling the dice he can be healthy enough and punting on the TE position in this year's draft if the right player does not fall to us. If you have a stud waiting there you have to take him. Imagine Bowers in horns! But between Higbee and Parkinson, we have a good chunk of money invested in that position group already, and it is not one I consider essential. I think we can move on from both Higbee and Parkinson pretty easily the season after this upcoming one. That might well be a better time to add a TE. Not sure what that TE draft class looks like though. This one is apparently very good.
This is the conundrum, the way the WR group seems to be shaking out, the more dynamic pass catchers are at TE late round 1-2 seemingly.

Taylor at 26 in the 1st or 3rd? I'm thinking he's somewhere around pick 80.
It's still early, but Daniel Jeremiah has him as his 35th highest ranked player on his board.
Dane Brugler has him as his 37th highest rated player.
And both these guys actually talk to actual NFL personnel.

This draft is so deep at TE, but there is no Brock Bowers who I championed last year.

Unless a TE is clearly the BPA on the Rams draft board AND they planned to feature him on the offense, I'm not sure I'd even consider a TE on the first two days of the draft. That's how deep this TE draft class is this year.

That's fair, in past drafts, some positions that are deep actually push players at the position down the board and the top of the board ends up being drafted a bit later than pundits think as teams pass on them with the thought that they'll get one later.

It's a bit much to hope for but I'd think you'd run up to the board if Loveland or Warren were there at 26.

I think beyond them both Arroyo and Taylor could be guys you feature in an offense (and prob Fannin) and warrant 2nd round consideration not too mention the amount of guys I think are worthy of 3rd round slots.

Will be interesting to rank pass catchers in the draft later as I think it will fun mixing and matching the WR and TE talent this year given the superior pass catching available at TE this year vs years past (guys you can def feature in an offense).

Both are fine players, but I'm not so sure I would. And especially not, if Alaric Jackson signs elsewhere.

TBF, if Alaric is gone, I'm sure LT becomes priority 1 in the draft. Doesn't necessarily mean we use 26th on it but much much more likely.

I believe that the Rams TE room really needs to be revamped. I believe they need a strong receiving threat to take over for Kupp in the slot and at least one strong blocker capable of being anywhere from the 4th to 5th option on plays.

In this DEEEEP TE draft class you can get both on day three of the draft.

I don't like him... He runs funny. Something odd about him. He runs like a duck... duck-footed. The opposite of pigeon toed. He looks like he is on roller skates or something.
So you wouldn’t be a fan of Crazy Legs Hirsch?

I haven't gone this deep in the draft, curious to get to know more about them.

7 years in college and his final season even ended in a season ending injury.

He's probably looking at undrafted free agency.
Indeed I decided to post him here instead of the UDFA where I put another guy since the talk here was if we don't get a TE early.

We're forgetting someone. Someone from Iowa who was highly regarded at one point.

Remember Luke Lachey?

I wish he was better blocker for his size. I didn't watch him a bunch so I can't say that he was asked to in their offense.
