°F | °C

Precipitation: 60%
Humidity: 88%
Wind: 7 mph
Key number - slight breeze.

My understanding is players/QBs don't mind snow as much as wind and/or rain.
Cool to watch though.
Bingo. I think it will be fun to watch. Gurley 200 yds 3 TDS again.

Good week for this stat then. This is amazing from our offense.

Great stat, but all the more infuriating that our D has then given up a bunch of long drives.

Gloves for his mini hands.

Rams set to face a different kind of challenge in Denver on Sunday
By: Cameron DaSilva

As of now, it’s slated to be extremely cold for the Rams-Broncos game on Sunday. The forecast is calling for a high of 31 degrees with 7 mph winds and a 60 percent chance of snow up to 1 inch. It’ll get colder as the day goes on with a low of 19 through the night.

On Saturday night before the game, Denver could see 3-6 inches of snow dumped on Mile High Stadium. It’ll undoubtedly be cleared before game time, but the field will be firm, the air will be cold and the altitude could play a major factor.

Teams traveling to Denver often have trouble with the change in altitude, leading to increased fatigue, shortness of breath and a faster heart rate. Pair that with a temperature change from 75 and sunny in Thousand Oaks to low-30s in Denver and it could be a recipe for disaster.

Since 2012, the Broncos are 39-12 at home, a .765 winning percentage – third-best in the NFL in that span. Denver is a difficult place to play and although the weather has been between 50 and 70 degrees lately, the temperatures are going to plummet this weekend, just in time for the Rams’ arrival.

The Rams haven’t played in Denver since 2010, and while players currently on the roster like Marcus Peters and Ramik Wilson have experience playing in the higher altitude thanks to their time in the AFC West, it remains a difficult place to play.

I'm a little more worried about this game than I originally was. Ive seen several talking heads predicting this to be the rams first loss. Its going to be below freezing at high altitude with possible snow, along with the case keenums revenge narrative. I still think we win but we might be sweating another one out like last week.

He was in the PAC 12 with 2 Colorado and 2 Washington schools so it’s possible he played in it at Cal.
I dont recall him playing in the snow in college. Im certainly intrigued to see how this plays out.

Good test for the Rams to see if they can deal with playing outside their comfort zone, weather-wise as well as the electric Broncos crowd.

Long way to Sunday, but...I'm in my vacation home in Colorado right now and...well....it's snowing right this moment. And not pellets, it's the big fat snow. None of it is sticking, though.

I thought the Rams were going to Colorado early to get use to the altitude.

Anyone remember that or have a link?

I'm not the least bit worried about the snow and temps, it's the altitude that could be a problem. Sea-level Los Angeles to mile-high Denver is a big difference. The team will travel there on what, Friday (?) and get used to it as much as any visiting team can, and then they will play on Sunday.

All of the Rams have played in cold weather many times before. The Vikings play their home games in a big, glass box but no one would question their toughness playing in Chicago or Green Bay in the winter.

Both the Rams and Chiefs requested this so the nfl gave neither team the benefit.

You lose 25% lung capacity going from sea level to 5800 feet. And it takes between 2 weeks and 2 months to acclimate to it. Even assuming the low end because these are peak performance athletes, showing up 2 days before the game isn't going to create any appreciable acclimation.

My main exercise regimen is to walk an hour and a half a day. The last time I was in Denver it took me a good 24 hours before my breathing was normal. Wyoming was even worse. The sooner the Rams get there, the sooner they will be acclimated. Still, the Broncos will have the advantage.

Another honest question - Does Denver practice outdoors or indoors? If they move practices indoors when it starts to get cold, they wont have a lot more experience playing in the elements than we do. They will undoubtedly be more used to the elevation but I'm guessing they're not out practicing in the snow.
They do both bro. Their complex is about 10 minutes from where I live. They have an indoor facility if the weather is too extreme.

I mean,. yeah...it's cold (30) and maybe a lil snow, but we're not talking December/Jan sub arctic Green Bay or Chicago. I think we'll be fine as long as it's not windy.

I have everything on this game in survivor, and reverse survivor, not because they will be easy, but because they are hard.

I have an uneasy feeling about this game, but we were tested the last two weeks, and we came out of them.

I was in Denver for the first time in May. I think the altitude change affects people differently but I didn't notice anything. Outside of a hike, I didn't do anything physically demanding, however, unless drinking counts.

I posted this in the "What Broncos fans are saying" thread but is worth mentioning in here.

Snow does not affect offense or passing game. Wind does. I have seen shootouts in snowy weather. The advantage usually is to the offense since receivers know where they are going. No worries here.

Trivia:

When was the Rams last snow game? I'm talking snow falling and visible on the ground.
Can't remember when, but without looking further and cheating, I will guess New England.
