Amazing how many of these girls are worried about snow with us. Like the Broncos play all week and year in snow. STAHP!

" There might be snowflakes"

HAHAHA Saw this in the AM. Great way to wake up! My favorite Shrager quote "You don't think Wade Phillips who has a hundred years coaching has ever been able to figure out SNOW!"

This whole snow thing is pretty funny. Did everyone forget TGII is a beast???

Bad weather is a great equalizer. But it works both ways. You think Case Keenum's noodle arm is going to improve in cold and snow? I'm sure most guys on both rosters have had to deal with that kind of weather at some point in their careers.

There's 6 areas that if they're strong in a team will do well in when playing g in the snow. Five areas that the Rams do very well in.

1) A strong, not fast, but strong Dline. But Barron and Littleton have to play their assigned gaps.
2) A strong disciplined Oline. One of the strengths of this team.I
3) A strong Running Back. And Gurley is a strong down hill runner.
4) Wide Receivers with good hands. Rams have 3 starters who are terrific in this area.
5) A confident poised strong armed QB. I just gave you the definition of Goff.
6) An offense that runs misdirection plays with proficiency with precision. Again this the Rams do superbly well.

So the only area we have to hope the Rams improve upon is the defense staying disciplined.
But the rest of it is in very good hands knowing the Rams have it handled. Knock on wood.

Yes weather will affect the game but will it be an adverse effect? Not Necessarily

Seems like its hard to tell how snow plays into it all. From my own viewing and playing football...

1. Harder to get a pass rush - much more difficult to get good footing and change directions.
2. Harder to throw deep - more difficult to get a could grip on the ball.
3. More difficult to catch a bullet pass on a slant - especially if you try yo use your body, it will slide off.
4. More difficult for players to cut back/change direction. Running a straight line is still much the same as regular conditions.
5. Chances of a big play are going to come from a short pass or run where a defender slips or slides off the ball carrier.
6. I feel like at the initial moments of the play the offense has the advantage because it knows where its going, rather than having to react.
7. However if the offensive players stop moving - halt their inertia then the play is very dead because it's going to be difficult for anyone to accelerate away from the defenders.
8. of course it also depends on how much snow...

Also quite strange is that the temp in denver today was near 70 degrees...

Only 6 mph wind tomorrow... so really it doesn't appear the weather will be that bad.

Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling!
Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes...
The dead rising from the grave!
Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!

I'm not worried about the weather.

I'm only slightly worried about the altitude.

I'm most worried about our run defense. Until they prove otherwise, they are a liability.

Secret No. 6: There are 2 tarps for the field.

There's the snow tarp, the thick one, created to keep moisture out.

There's also a grow tarp that allows the sun in, but keeps the frost out.

The grass at Sports Authority Field is 100 percent Kentucky Blue Grass that grows year round. It's not allowed to go dormant, DeWitt said.

Under the grass is 21 miles of heated pipes to help keep the grass green year round.

Sports Authority Field is one of the few stadium to have a flat playing surface. That's because that underground piping system also has a vacuum system that can drain the field of water during rain and snow storms.

As a sidebar...I hope they get the field right in our new stadium. And not just the playing surface, but all aspects of playing conditions (sunlight/glare, moisture, et. al.)

Can't remember when, but without looking further and cheating, I will guess New England.

last time Rams played in NE was Dec 4 2016. It wasnt that cold, maybe 40 or so if I remember right. Brady broke some kind of record that game. Rams lost 26-10.

Was a long ride home with a truck full of Pats fans besides my wife

as a matter of fact, that was the last game I went to :(

Will cold effect Barron's status? I remember they held him out of the Seattle game last year due to the cold affecting his achillies. McVay had mentioned at the time that the weather was a factor.

I think that might have been because of a slight mist during the game, making the field a bit slick, not sure tho

Quiz: Name any games that Rams played in while snow was falling?

Someone mentioned a few flakes in the ‘85 Bears game...hardly a “snow game.”

Other than that, can’t think of a single time since 1980.

I attended a game against NE in 1989, and there was snow on the ground in general, but none on the field at Foxborough.

Anyone?

Rams, snow, ever? Ever?

Edit: Just saw that ClassicRams asked this question on page 1 already, but it looks like nobody is up to the challenge of answering it...yet...

My thought was that '89 NE game, but heck. My viewing of that game at the time was limited to NBC game break footage.
