I don’t recall ever seeing that many players that I never heard of on one roster
Yeah I was thinking maybe they have a good player with a foot out the door we can capitalize on. Then I saw 35 and decided I'd look at it later. :laugh3:

Going to be a pretty good time soon to trade Jimmy G in a position of strength.

I’d tell the Dolphins you want your season to tank? Give your 3rd and 5th (they have two each), and backup OT Patrick Paul. (LT)

There’s our LT of the future boys.

Well, if the Rams could pull off the massive trade of their captain, and starting MLB, receiving a 2026 5th rounder in a pick swap, they should easily be able to fleece the Dolphins for a 2028 8th rounder
It's a shame we don't have a better option at 3rd QB... look what LaFleur did with Willis. If McVay had a more physically talented 3rd QB, who you could win a few games with, I would move Jimmy.

And I take nothing less than a 4th with connditions for it to improve to a 3rd. That way if they do well, you get a later 3rd, or of they blow up, you get high 4th.

Patrick Paul... I wish I would have thought of that.

I would take Paul and a 5th and give them back a 6th... Hell, I would take Paul straight up JG.

Assuming the Rams OL coach liked Paul coming out.

Malik Willis was traded for a 7th round pick. I just dont see where the Rams would get more of a return for JG than that.

Hell anything that involves Paul would be good, but the point is start high and see what we can get.

Malik Willis was a hope skip and jump from being out the league, Jimmy G has the record in the playoffs and regular season to lead a team, plus experience. It’s not even close. Which is why the Dolphin brass has already reached out to us.

And we are in a position of strength.

Willis was seen as a failed castoff by the time he was moved. Jimmy G is a mediocre starter with proven experience in big games.

So I am confident we'll get more than a 7th rounder. We're not the ones with the need here. We are content to stay with Jimmy at backup in fact. Miami makes that call, their job is to sell us on moving a valuable QB2 to them to solve their problem. It's gonna cost at least a midround selection and/or maybe a non-critical player we like on their roster.

I'm sure you guys are kidding around here but in case you're not... No way the Dolphins move a young tackle to us. @Loyal will eat his Tutu jersey if that happens.

JG got benched by his last 2 teams, cut by the Raiders and could have been signed by anyone.
At least Willis has upside, nobody questioned his feet.
Sure JG could be a warm body, but he's surely not a difference maker at this point, and not worth a decent pick

When you get cut by the Raiders, that is the definition of being a hop, skip and a jump away from being out of the league

Raiders are fucking idiots. He has value as a mediocre starter in the WCO with big game experience. That is a certainty, and it is far more than what Willis had going on in the moment he was moved.

I don't get the JG disrespect.
We NEED a decent backup QB.
Stetson is a sure loss.
If you're only gonna get some low pick, KEEP him.
How many times has he beat the Rams? He can't be THAT bad. . .

The rams are fighting for a playoff spot and every game matters. We need a good backup QB like JG. There’s no reason to trade him unless: we get a great offer (3rd round pick) or we are out of it at the TDL.

Well that’s the Raiders though! Their dumb asses signed him to a huge contract they weren’t willing to pay. But I can’t disagree with your point! lol

You have to be smoking crack to think any team will give up a draft pick for Jimmy G.
Then we keep him and have one of the better backups in this league. We're not the one with the need.

Shit we are in a position of strength. If they are serious with the last two years of contracts and trades they’ll step up to the plate.

However that’s what I’d ask for don’t know if our brass is coveting someone else more.

If I had to guess I'd say they are open to finding a way to get a deal done with Miami to get Jimmy an opportunity. I don't think they'll get crazy with demands either. But Miami is gonna need to pony up something to get him.

No idea what that will be. Probably a player the Rams appreciate on their roster, i.e. one of their pending FAs. Maybe a midround pick too idk. But they are going to need to offer some value to take a good backup from us.

Absolutely would flip Jimmy G to the Dolphins for a second or third and one or two position players at positions of need (Patrick Paul and Channing Tindall immediately comes to mind). Shit, I'd even flip in Warren McClendon and Christian Rozeboom in the deal to give them players to replace their losses back.

And before you say it's not realistic? They're the ones with a quarterback problem, and we have all of the leverage to hold them over a barrel.
