Minnesota is all in on this season. They've got a real soft stretch in their schedule now and with playing Detroit 2 times in the last 3 weeks, their dream stays alive as long as they are within 2 games of them

I cant see how Carolina doesnt trade Burns and Washington really wants to trade off either Young or Sweat. Man, it's gonna be a crazy weekend. I'm thinking there's a couple teams waiting for sunday's result to determine their path

I don’t understand Carolina. Who are they paying that they got rid of CMC and DJ Moore? What they should have done is retained them and invested in the OL and they’d be farther along like the Texans (I can’t believe that sentence makes any sense at all outside of sarcasm, but it does… thanks 2023) McCaffrey kept getting hurt because the OL was poor as we see with him in SF (Damnit).

I think they keep Burns as a central piece unless they find a team willing to give up multiple 1sts which I don’t think we’re willing to do anymore

I think they have tried to address the O-Line, through both the Draft and Free Agency.

Three projected starters were 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks; and the first rounder was the 6th overall selection. The other two ... Bozeman and former-Ram Corbett ... were well paid free agents. Guess the unit has simply not gelled yet. Tough to say without watching entire games. Both Guards have been injured this year.

It's so difficult to build a quality O-Line. Even if a Team allocates the resources, it must make good decisions.

It really all depends on Burns, if they think they can re-sign him, sure. But they are looking at a 0-2 win season right now and no 1st round pick. They can tag him and trade him but may not be able to get picks in 2024 draft
CMC contract wasnt sustainable, his cap number was going to be huge and his salary wasnt guaranteed. He would have been traded anyways, he wouldnt have made them a winner last year

It sounds like Dalvin Cook and Carl Lawson want to be traded. If it won't cost much and the Jets are willing to eat some of the money, I'd strongly consider it. Don't know how much Dalvin has left in the tank, but those are two positions where we could use some help.

I'm actually expecting a trade for Chase Young at some point. He's a long term player and a fix for our edge pass rushing issue. I could see him being All Pro playing on the line with AD.

Young with that injury history just doesn't make sense to me. Certainly can't see paying a premium for him.

Hunter and Burns are the only two that interest me at the deadline and I'm only ehhh on either given where our team is.

I'd have to consider a third for Chase Young. It would depend on whether I think we could re-sign him. Yes, the injury history isn't great, but he is only 24 years old, is starting to come into his own this year (imo), and was considered a #1 overall caliber talent. While Montez Sweat is the better player right now, he's already 27, and I wouldn't want to give up a second for him when he's an impending FA.

Basically, I think we'd be buying relatively low on Chase Young, and I think his best football days are ahead of him. Yes, there's risk. But every time I've watched Washington this year, Young's pass rushing ability has stood out. If I thought we could re-sign him, I'd take that chance.

If the Rams can make deals for one or two players to help next year that would make a lot of sense. They sure have some holes to fill.

LT, Edge, CB and RB.

I think they need an explosive RB but that could come in the draft. LT and Edge Rusher would be my top two.

Rams management has to assume that 3 wins could be max this season. Not that it will be, but you start there thinking it's Possible we are looking at a top 10 pick next draft, not likely, but possible.
Stafford, Could, get blown up in this next game and gone for the season.
Their top two picks, 1st and 2nd are huge because of this. You hold onto those. Cheap top 10 rookie talent can't be given up, plus a top 2nd rounder.

My thoughts exactly. And he had 7.5 sacks as a rookie as well, so it's not like he's only playing well for a contract.

I would definitely go after Brown if the Pats would trade him.

As others have pointed out, It's so hard to get one of the top LT's. They don't shake loose that often.

If you wait till free agency then you are in a bidding war.

But I don't see any legit playoff run unless we get a LT and also a pass rusher.

If the player is available you're as likely to have a bidding war right now. Then if you don't resign him during the season you're in another bidding war.

Yeah if they pan out look at Jason Smith and Greg Robinson #1 & #2 selections. Puka is killing all the 1st round wrs. Bunch of top tier talent that doesn't pan out. I would rather go for a sure thing like Trent Brown, Denielle Hunter or Brian Burns any one is a major and solid upgrade vs a unknown 1st or 2nd round talent.

I'm hoping the Rams sit tight at the trade deadline. Also expecting that to be the case. Snead and McVay have been pretty honest with their comments about the 2023 season and strategy. It feels like a Re-Set-Year ... Coach hard and to win ... Play hard and to win ... But Go With What You Got.

I have been both surprised and pleased that the Rams have been competitive in every game.

A couple weeks ago, McVay was asked about trade deadline acquisitions.
He could have given a simple 'We will see' or the generic 'We are always looking to upgrade the roster' but instead he gave a matter of fact answer that 'Unlike in prior years, they lacked the assets to make a move' That was kind of telling to me.

Maybe Washington would take the Rams' third round pick for Young, figuring that it might be #75-#85 overall. However, I would not want them to give-up that pick. They got Byron Young at #77 and Kobie Turner at #89.

From Chase Young's point-of-view, I don't know why he would agree to a long-term contract when he would be so close to free agency, unless the Rams offered top-Edge-$ which is between $25M-$30M Average-Annual-Value. Yes, the Franchise Tag would be an option but that would take up almost half of the Rams' projected off-season cap space, and leave an unhappy player.

It just doesn't seem like a smart play for a team that needs significant talent upgraded to its roster.

Finally, unlike Cornerback and Left Tackle, there could be some quality Edge players in Free Agency:
