OTC has the shitters with the most cap space in 2026. 71 mil. Then look at the 2027 cap space. They're in the red by 35 mil. Only two teams are worse. For 2028 they're currently the only team projected to be in the red. They got some huge cap hits coming. Purdy and Bosa combine for over 100 mil in 2028. Purdy's cap hit will be 71 mil in 2029.
I know they will be doing some restructuring and other things to reduce the cap hits, but they aren't gonna have a lot of money to play with over the next few years. They might be in a serious rebuild mode soon. Their core is already aging and more injury prone with declining skills.
Meanwhile the Rams only aging core player is Stafford. Who seems to be getting better with age. The 49ers haven't been terrible with the day 2 and 3 picks. But they aren't on the level of the Rams. The 49ers have been terrible with first round picks under Shanahan and Lynch. Solomon Thomas, Ruben Foster, Mike McGlinchy, Nick Bosa, Javon Kinlaw, Brandon Aiyuk, Trey Lance, Ricky Pearsall, Mykel Williams.
Bosa's the only first round hit. And he seems to be declining already. Not to mention a couple serious knee injuries.
