Mcvay was asked a few things & started preparing for THe niners.

Listening to Cohn and some of the other Niner Talking Heads their roster is a mess

The substation has done its job putting about 15 guys on IR already

Both lines are a mess and they don’t know how they’re going to generate a pass rush

They are wondering why they didn’t draft or sign a big name edge rusher to pair with Bosa (who also doesn’t seem to be healthy)

rumor has it they came close to signing Miles Garrett, but Jed was $140 short on his offer. He seemed to be obsessed with holding that money back for another matter.

It's not the substation.
It's age and training/medical decisions the team and players make.
I actually believe that many of their players have been pulled out of training camp this year due to trying to improve on keeping players healthy for the games (I believe that Evans will be a full go for game 1, as well as McCaffrey and others). They have watched how the Rams managed Stafford (among others) last year.

I've been wondering about Shanny's training staff for more than a few seasons now.

How can they not keep anybody healthy?
