…and counting. F the 69ers!

And I'm happy thinking that Trent Williams is almost 40 and missing games... George Kittle is old and just suffered a horrible injury... CMC is almost done and Fred Warner is also coming off a bad injury. The worst is yet to come for the 69ers..., I hope.

I was surprised at the offensive run they had late in the season. They won 7 of 8. But those games were against teams like AZ, Ind, Car, Cle, Ten. Chicago was good but not on defense. The 49ers were shut down when they faced a legit defense.

I was also surprised McCaffrey lasted the whole season. Sure, he's no longer the 2023 version. But he was a valuable outlet for the QB's. I don't see him getting any better though. He was heavily used again. And now he's reaching the age where RB's diminish quickly.

They'll be looking at serious cap constraints over the next couple years. Purdy's cap hit isn't that bad right now but will rise quite a bit in a couple years. Beginning in 2028 his cap hit jumps to 57 mil. 72 mil the 65 mil the following two years. Bosa and Williams will combine for around 80 mil this year. Bosa coming off another serious injury. Williams aging. Warner cap his climbs to almost 30 mil per year for 3 years beginning in 2027.

Their Superbowl window has been closed for a while. Their playoff window might be closing real soon. According to OTC they go from 9th most cap space this year to the least cap space next year. The only team projected to be in the red next year.

Then they have to contend with the two teams who have the best odds of winning the next Superbowl. If I'm a 49er fan I'm depressed about their outlook the next few years.

Window closing on key vet players but they draft well. McCarthy was average at best as a runner but still elite as a RB receiver. They need someone else to pound the rock. Looking forward to further regression on their offense. Ratboy will be fully gray by end of season.

I can’t believe how well the 49’ers did. They were legit despite injuries. But key guys are getting older. I think their window is definitely in jeopardy.

I think they’re past “jeopardy.” The only thing that has spared them collapse was getting extremely, dare I say, HISTORICALLY, lucky with a 7th round pick in purdy. He is a fighter and smart in his pre snap reads; but at the end of the day, he has a 7th round arm.

Please don’t punish me for saying this, but they resemble a lot of teams who had a run of talent but couldn’t sustain it. Kinda like the GSOT. As star players aged, they couldn’t backfill.

I know I’m a homer, that’s why I’m here, but looking at the Rams in 2017 when McVay arrived vs the 2025 roster and WOW! The Rams immediately brought in players to establish culture and win games. They tweaked as much as they could and by year two (2018) they went to a SB. Did that roster look ANYTHING like the one who won it in ‘21? By ‘23 it was different and still changing. Look at the teams who legitimately challenged in ‘24 and ‘25. Does THAT team look radically different than ‘21?

What have the 9ers done to sustain their run in that time?

Seriously, we went from the all time greatest season by a WR (kupp in’21) to the baddest WR in the NFl (Nacua) in ‘25.
Aaron Donald to Verse, BY, and the Conductor.

The Rams are doing it right. The 9ers and the rest of the NFL are missing the most essential metric in a tech dominated era—roster churning of an already good team.

I could go on because I’ve got a good buzz going, but you have read enough!

"This was a horrible Super Bowl," the former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver declared. "They should never ever, ever, ever bring the Super Bowl back to San Francisco. … It was ‘blah’ in the city, you know what I mean? It just wasn’t jumping."
"Literally, you could not go anywhere on the streets," he said. "It took forever to get right down the street because traffic was so bad." Irvin also expressed his hope that future Super Bowls are not awarded to the region.

Yeah but if they continue to have them in the Bay Area, there will never be a home field advantage.
