Jennings should be suspended, hitting someone after the game inexcusable (even with what Moehig had done earlier).

What a terrible culture that Shanahan has created in SF (so happy about this though)? That was premeditated thuggery, there is a reason that 49ers are a dirty team and it starts with the HC whose philosophy seems to be do whatever you want as long as you don't get a penalty. The problem with that is that players will not always be in control and make good decisions.

McVay would not accept this, let alone support it.
There is a reason why the Rams culture is so great.
I get that 49ers are dirty players but Jennings did what he needed to do, the guy hit him in the nuts, that's some dirty shit right there. Jennings and Moehig should both be suspended but Moehig was the one that started all this.

Are you sure?
According to Moehig, there was dirty stuff from a 49er that led to it. I would expect that from a 49er, they are known for this.

I won't codone hitting someone in the nuts. Moehig needs to be suspended as well.

Hard for me to see a Rams fan defending a 49er like you are.

This is a pretty funny thread to read, particularly the posts since Monday night’s game. The reality of Purdy’s noodle arm is setting in.

I love this: “does kyle ever scheme easy throws?” That’s almost all he does.

I wore a cup in HS and I remember a guy punching me there in the pile and it about broke his hand.
As much as I hated wearing cups (but a total necessity), there was nothing more uncomfortable than the girdle pads of the 1970's..... I always had a rash the size of Texas throughout football season because of those damn things.

That was normal back in the 70's and 80's :laugh2:
I got to speak to Conrad Dobler one time at a boxing match. He said that biting, twisting body parts, punching, all that was routine in the scrums. He went on to say that Merlin Olsen was the hardest biter in the league.

Of course we all have to consider the source. Conrad was well known as a dirty player - some say the dirtiest of all time.

Defending someone that got punched in the nuts? yes I would call that a pussy ass way to retaliate for whatever Moehig says that the 49ers did. Should have just went straight up to him but no he decided to punch the guy in the nuts.

WHAT!!!!!

You got to speak to HIM!!!!! I think anyone who played football appreciated him..... You lucky dog!!!!

I've only spoke to one football player in my life and that was Chris Hanburger of the Redskins. He shook my hand and told me " son always look up at a person and introduce yourself when shaking another mans hand."

My dad loved Merlin Olsen.

You and I don't see things the same way at all.
Something like that happens to me, I address it right away. I know that I would hit back right away if I was hit in the nuts.
I'm not sure how you would react.
I'd not back down. I've never been called dirty either.

I could defend him if he did it right away., maybe. (I don't get paid millions, and have a team culture to support).

Yeah. I think he was kind of surprised I recognized him. We were at a UNR vs Airforce boxing match. Funny. He liked talking to us but still came off as sort of an ass.

I’ve met and talked to several former athletes. Most have been very nice. I just didn’t get that vibe from Conrad.

would be hard to hit right back if you got punched in the nuts, shit it takes a while to recover from that.

I got an autograph and spoke for a couple of seconds with Jerry Rice at SFO in the early 2000's once. We were connecting there from Havasu to PDX at the time. I said to my wife while we were waiting in the gates, 'that's Jerry Rice standing over there'.
She encouraged me to ask for an autograph. At first, I didn't want to bother him. I quickly relented, realizing the opportunity before me.
He was very gracious, as I told him that while I appreciated his career and all, I'm a Rams fan.
Got him to sign a airlines paper napkin for a friend ( with Mike's on it ) who, as you know, was a huge whiners fan.

Cool

I've only met three baseball players (Steve Yeager)..... All he said to us was.... "kids can't you see I'm busy right now".... :not: And Mike Munoz, we played baseball together in little League and Connie Mack baseball league.

And finally Robin Yount at an Angel game and he was the highlight of my baseball life. My dad was friends with an Angel pitcher Andy Hassler (my pops was so upset when he passed). But we had front row on the visitor side (Brewers dugout) and I was playing with my glove and Mr. Yount walked over and just started talking to me and my Dad out of nowhere. Then he asked for my glove and he looked at me and said, "it looks like you broke in your glove by sleeping on it" and told me that's a big no-no. He grabbed my arm and helped me over the railing and took me to the dugout to show me his gloves and the proper way to break-in a baseball glove for infield play. Then he handed me one of his Mizuno (GIC-4 The Close) and we played catch for about 5 minutes and showed me the proper way to break it in, and he gave it to me..... His final words.... "don't spit in your glove, it rots the leather."

I still have that glove and never used it on the field and now it's next to my dads ashes in my recording studio.

I remember Olsen telling Dobler's Father that he had shaken Conrad's hand years later. Dobler's Dad asked Olsen. "Did you count your fingers after?"
