I hate that we have to play the 49ers in the Championship. They're built to be Rams killers and have proven to be so time and time again. They're our kryptonite! I want this win more than anything. I really really really hope we learned from our previous two matchups with them and can finally get the W we need

Alert! A 49er fan has infiltrated our ranks!

You didn’t watch the last game did you? It was an avoidable loss. The Rams were crushing it then Morris and McVay went into conservation/clock management mode. They need to play the same game all 60 minutes.

I just don’t want my hopes to get crushed, too high. Nevertheless I think that the Chiefs will win the SB anyway

The game plan has to be two words on defense:

PENETRATE AND TACKLE WELL!

On offense:

* TEMPO, TEMPO, TEMPO. Keep SF of balance with no huddle offense and quick short to medium routes. It gets Stafford time.

* Stafford needs to be prepared to take off and run. That SF pass rush is fierce. We've seen it.

* Get Akers, and Henderson out of the backfield on LBs and also run him on sweeps.

Defense:

* GET OFF THE BALL QUICK and penetrate the LOS to blow up the run. The SF OLine is big...and we know the book on running against the Rams is to run at them. Perhaps a spy on Debo is the way to go. I don't know but when you tackle the guy GET HIS LEGS!!! He's to strong to tackle high.

I think the Ram defense is up to the task...BUT IT STARTS WITH MINDSET.

THEY HAVE TO BE DETERMINED TO WIN THE PHYSICAL BATTLE HERE.

We must admit both times the Rams faced SF THEY LOST THE PHYSICAL BATTLE!

THEY GOTTA WIN IT SUNDAY!!!

McVay and Morris will not make those kind of mistakes again, especially not after another near disaster (though caused by turnovers) of letting Tampa Bay back in the game.

The thing about the whiners is that their offense is simple. down 17-3 to us in the second half, they came out and ran the ball 10 straight plays and we could not stop them. We stop the run, then Garappolo is forced to throw, and he is prone to making mistakes. He served up some game losing potential pick sixes against Green Bay but the DBs were only playing the receiver and not the ball. Otherwise Green Bay survives that blocked punt and still wins.

Take away Deebo Samuel whenever possible because he is the thorn in our side. He somehow got open on their game tying drive for a huge gain which is why we ended up in OT.

It's really that simple. Sure they have Kittle, but Kittle doesn't gain nearly 100 yards running the ball. It's Samuel that needs to be shut down which will limit their options severely.

Shanahan plays very short passes which neutralizes our pass rush so maybe the idea isn't to rack up sacks but just to push the middle of the pocket to get Garappolo into happy feet mode. Man up and do not allow easy pitch and catch plays.

Garappolo rarely throws the ball more than 10 yards down field against the Rams. Their offense is designed that way when they play against us.

And of course, I don't believe we've played a turnover free game against them in recent memory.

Don't turn the damn ball over and stop the run and we have a great chance to punch our ticket to the Super Bowl.

Hopefully Jones is ready to return so we can sit Reeder. That play on 4th down when he failed to make the tackle, I've seen it one to many from this guy. Please football gods let Jones play

I hate facing the 9ers but to win it all we're gonna have to beat them. The 9ers are beat up after that GB game, playing a game in zero degree weather and getting smashed like they did for 4 quarters will take it's toll on their bodies. The Rams should come out and dominate but I can't' underestimate the 9ers, and the Rams HAVE to play 4 quarters.

Eh players miss tackles. AD missed a tackle against Conner against the cards that went for a TD in our second game this year. He completely whiffed. It happens. If Reeder makes that tackle he's the hero, since he didn't he's the zero. It's not his fault they were put in those positions. If anyone should be sat it's Akers if we're being honest, oh and Allen too! I mean it's their faults right? Oh wait we should sit Kupp too. And while we're at it, Ramsey.
Not trying to put anyone on blast here but in reality players miss assignments / tackles all the time, in every game.

Indeed. Jones is a key piece to beat these fucks. They like to wear us down underneath and part of the reason that works so well is our ILBs just can't hang in terms of coverage and quick tackles for a full 60. Jones changes that equation a bit. If he can play, and if he can stay on the field I think he gives us a huge boost to get off the field.

And the defense getting off the field is the key to beating the 9ers. That plus how our front handles that talented DL.

If I get a chance I’ll watch the game again but I saw Reeder get blasted in the first drive and miss a number of tackles throughout. I’m not blaming the TD on Reeder as others failed too but it looked like he had a clear line to Fournette and simply fell to the ground before without being hit before making contact.

Yeah he whiffed. It happens. LF is a great running back, he'll make people miss in the backfield. Just tired of seeing people call for players benching when they have a subpar performance or if they make a mistake. None of the Rams players have been perfect this year. In fact there's been some downright bad play from good players at times. Just hate seeing the sky is falling over something that happens to everyone.
