Dolphins’ Louis Delmas carted off with knee injury

Dolphins safety Louis Delmas was carted off the field after he suffered an apparent knee injury in practice today.

According to multiple reporters on the scene, Delmas was in coverage during the Dolphins’ joint practice with the Panthers when he went down and grabbed his right knee. Delmas tore his right ACL last year.

When healthy, Delmas is a very good safety. But he has struggled to stay healthy. The Lions cut Delmas after the 2013 season because they questioned whether he’d be able to stay health, and although he got off to a good start with the Dolphins last year, his torn ACL seemed to justify the Lions’ decision.

Delmas was the second player to be carted off the field with a knee injury during the Panthers-Dolphins scrimmage, following Carolina receiver Kelvin Benjamin. Both were non-contact injuries.

Panthers wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin was injured during Wednesday morning’s practice and eventually carted off.

According to tweets from the scene, trainers were working on Benjamin’s left leg. He was working against Reshad Jones in a one-on-one drill when he suffered what appears to be a non-contact injury.

Benjamin had 73 catches for 1,008 yards and nine touchdowns as a rookie. After being the most targeted rookie leaguewide and getting the seventh-most targets of any player in the NFL, Benjamin came to camp lighter this year in hopes losing weight would help him beat nagging hamstring injuries.

We’ll have an update on Benjamin’s status when Panthers coach Ron Rivera gives one.

For the second time in the last nine months, Dolphins safety Louis Delmas has been diagnosed with a torn the ACL in his right knee.

That’s the initial diagnosis after Delmas was carted off the practice field today, a league source tells PFT. Delmas is still holding out hope that an MRI will reveal the injury is less serious, but the medical staff that checked him out after the injury believes the ACL is torn again.

Delmas also tore his right ACL last year, in a December game against the Ravens. Knee problems have plagued him for much of his career, which is the primary reason the Lions released him after fie years in Detroit.

The Dolphins had been expecting Delmas to be their starting free safety this season. Instead he is expected to spend the season on injured reserve.

The loss of Benjamin will be huge for the Panthers.

This is going to harsh that good vibe Raiders coach Jack Del Rio was getting.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Raiders wide receiver Andre Holmes fractured his hand in practice Sunday, and is expected to miss three to four weeks.

That will put him right on the edge of returning for the regular season.

Holmes caught 47 passes for 693 yards and four touchdowns last year, and began to show the potential teams saw in him. He has the kind of speed to be a downfield threat, and it’s clear they thought he could build on that.

The Raiders added to their depth chart by drafting Amari Cooper fourth overall and signing Michael Crabtree in free agency, but he was still going to play a key role for them.

Iupati has been dinged up quite a bit the last couple seasons. He's an *old 28 much like Jake Long was an *old 28 when he became a Ram.
I saw this coming.

Apparently the Raider Doctors are better than the Ram Doctors...Seriously after this chronic issue I beginning to question if the Ram have the right physicians in place.
OR .... if the magician Trainer ... the "Infamous Reggie" is worth HIS paycheck...??

IDK it's been reported more than once and on interviews the players rave about Reggie Scott, but you truly never know?

The results are in from the examination on Cardinals guard Mike Iupati’s knee, and the outlook isn’t great.

Iupati is expected to need arthroscopic knee surgery that will sideline him for six to eight weeks, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

That’s a big blow to the Cardinals’ offensive line, which desperately needs to improve after last year’s poor performance. The Cardinals signed Iupati to a five-year, $40 million contract with the idea that he’d give them an instant upgrade. As it turns out, he’ll miss the first few games of the regular season.

With right tackle Bobby Massie suspended, the Cardinals will start the season without two of their starters on the offensive line.

Not a good thing for Palmer especially against us.But at least they have a good excuse now on why they will get destroyed by us.
