Kieran Tierney is a good player but he's not the finished article. Be interesting to see how he gets on. For me there are 3 better Scottish players currently playing but he is the most expensive Scotsman ever so what do I know.

I'm going to Hearts tomorrow for County's first away SPL match since we got promoted again. We had a convincing home win last week to start the season so hopefully a good omen!

I've always been impressed when I've seen Tierney play but he does seem to be injured a lot. Out of interest who are the three better players? Andy Robertson I'm sure is one, I like John McGinn at Villa and maybe Ryan Fraser?

Enjoy your trip to the Jam Tarts. I'm going to Brighton next week, never been before so looking forward to that.

Good guesswork, you nailed it. Although come to think of it I would have Macgregor at Celtic ahead of him at the moment too, he might be the most underrated player in Britain at the moment.

John McGinn is going to become a household name this year. He's a wonderful player.

When Moyes was our manager he wanted to sign McGinn for £3m and the board vetoed it. Typical.

How you feeling about this season? There are a few sides looking like they could bridge the gap, the hammers, Everton, Leicester, wolves. Should be a strong top 10 this year.

Good question, hopefully better than 10th where we ended up last season. We need some luck with injuries, last season we lost Lanzini, Yarmolenko and Wilshere for pretty much the whole season. Wilshere has looked our best player pre-season but how long will he be fit for? Hopefully the new signings will hit the ground running but we need to be more consistent as well. Too many games last season (Cardiff, Burnley and Wolves away for example) we were bullied in the games. Need to be stronger. I think the top three of Man City, Liverpool and Sp*rs speaks for itself but Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal are slightly vulnerable. Would be nice to see another team in the top six, not sure it will happen though.

Oh and we could have done with a better game first up. We've had Sp*rs, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man U, Liverpool and now Man City first up the last 6 season. Someone that does the fixtures doesn't like us!

I don't think they played as bad as the score. They just played one of the best teams in the world that money can buy. City had a hot streak where they could do no wrong and it snowballed into the final score. I was glad to see our boy Jack still out there but in typical Wilshire fashion he went off hurt :(

We have a tough stretch coming up here too after our opener. @Liverpool, vs Spurs and @Watford. I'd be happy to come out of that with a win.

This is an excellent breakdown of the transfer budget nuances. It also explains why Gooners were frustrated with the club when you look at the previous leadership.

I see St Louis has been awarded a MLS team. How does it work when these teams start from scratch, do the take over a local amateur or semi pro team or do they literally build a new club from scratch?

It's usually a team from a lower league moved up like in this case. The STL team is in the USL which is basically like the Championship over there with a twist. Some of the teams in the USL are actually minor league teams/academy teams for the MLS squads.

Reddits soccer stream sites keep getting banned and the discord channel available is complete ass. Can't watch Arsenal all the time now unless I drop down $40 for NBC sports gold.
