You didn’t watch the Rams /Steelers game did you?
Yep. Awful game all around.
the Goff fumble call was horrendous, but the Rams offense was even worse.
they scored 3 offensive points all game. Both teams were awful, both teams flagged a ton. Rams Defense wanted that game, played their hearts out. Shame the offense didn’t show up.

You are wasting your effort trying to convince me that what is right in front of my eyes each season, is not happening.
I have no intention of trying to convince you otherwise. My only part in this discussion was regarding the “sports entertainment” angle, and how it was portrayed as a silver bullet, but in fact is just total nonsense. That’s why it had no legs 2 years ago when it first was fabricated

that game wasn't about the refs, it was about the faceless fucks in new york.

they had the chance to review 4 crucial calls, all went the stealers way, and they did nothing. they let all four calls stand. 14 stealers points came from those fucks looking the other way and they robbed the rams of a certain 7 points at the end of the game. a 21 point turnaround.

one, you can say that's football. but four? c'mon man.

Rams had a 7 point lead a minute in to the game against a lousy team playing with their backup QB.
should have never been in a position to let a bad call make a difference. Pitt was flagged a ton too.

To prevent further thread drift....

I would like us all to try and refocus on the KNOWN CHEATERS here. That would be the cheatriots and the astros. They are without any question - KNOWN CHEATERS.

And if we can really hone in on how completely different they are being treated and perceived by almost everyone.

Pittsburgh’s calls were meaningless. The Rams got the game killers

3 offensive points is the true game killer
8 punts, season high for Hekker, only had more than 8 punts in a game 3x in his career, last was the 2016 opener against San Fran.

I have been saying that sometimes refs unconsciously make calls against teams.

I know Vinobitch does it against the Rams. Everytime he calls the game against the Rams, the Rams get penalized almost 5 to 10 times as much as the other team. The game against NO was another example. The Rams had way more penalties against NO and I am thinking maybe the Ref that didn't make the interference call (who wasn't Vinobitch btw), may have tried to make up for the non face mask call on Goff just a few minutes earlier.
The reason the PI wasn't called, is because they were in the habit of letting them play the entire game. NRC could have been called at least once before in the game. Should have been. They were letting them play. That is also why vinobitch is the ref in so many big games. He let's them play. Sometimes its so obvious, but that is the nature of the game.

Yeah but that one was an excessive PI. There was nothing close about it. The other PI against NRC wasn't nearly as obvious.

Yeah but Pittsburgh should have scored maybe 6 points the entire game if not for the horrible horrible (have I told you how horrible the calls were) horrible calls

12 - 6 seems like a win to me. I have seen many teams win a game entirely on their defense and that was a game that should have been won by the Rams defense if not for the above horrible calls.

And if the Rams had won, they would have been 10 - 6 and possibly in the playoffs and we probably wouldn't even mention how bad the offense was since the last 5 weeks showed them much improved in that area.

It's the refs first impulse to not call a penalty and if I remember. The closest ref was behind the play on the receiver side of the play. He had a bad angle on the play. It makes the call less obvious and he goes to default mode. Sorry for the digression, But I think the league guides the refs more to watch ability than to who wins and this is the shit that happens.

It doesn’t say that. It doesn’t say anything like that. There is no difference between NFL, MLB & NBA.
Who would sue?
The networks? The Fans? The Players?
And more importantly, on what grounds would they sue?
that’s always the best weapon conspiracy theorists use, ambiguity. Because there is no definitive accusation.
If you're along who would sue, there was a fan that sued or tried to sue the NFL for the Jets/Pat's game where they caught them taping. The judge ruled there was no guarantee of fairness, only a game that could be viewed.

Here's an article from NFL.com about how that argument stood up in an appeals court.

So yeah, fans might sue if the NFL rigged a game, but the fans aren't entitled to fair games and the NFL isn't legally bound to provide them.

Yep, all you're guaranteed is a seat and the game being played.

The cheats have taken full advantage. Even when they got caught all they lost was a draft pick and some pocket change. Without doubt still cheating to this very day.

Yeah, I covered that a few pages ago.
The suit was thrown out of civil court immediately. Not because of the "sports entertainment" nonsense, because the suit had no merit. An appeal was filed and also thrown out. Just like the Saints suit over the blown call and the fan who sued the NFL over fining the Pats. There's a whole littany of frivolous suits.
The attorney who filed that suit and the subsequent appeal is a consumer rights advocate and was merely shitstorming to gain attention and promotion for his firm. He practices in my town and will sue anyone if it can bring promotion to his firm.
Years later some hack decides to fabricate that suit and tie it in with some nonsense clause of "Sports Entertainment". Thats all it takes to get conspiracy theorists juices flowing, but at a deeper glance it makes no sense. It is an anti trust exemption which basically defines the relationship of the franchises to the league as an entity. Nothing to do with culpability for cheating.

So yeah,
fans might sue if the NFL rigged a game, but the fans aren't entitled to fair games and the NFL isn't legally bound to provide them.
That comment kind of goes along the lines of the famous "When did you stop beating your wife" loaded question. In regard to the above example of a frivolous suit, the NFL is no different than NBA, MLB, NHL etc. That suit wasnt thrown out because of the "entertainment" designation, which is the silver bullet in the conspiracy theory which provoked this conversation. It was thrown out because you pay to see a game. And the ruling would be the same in any sport
Keep in mind that filing a law suit is not the same thing as suing. You can file a suit for practically anything.

The y had opportunities killed by the refs, while the refs did everything they could to keep Steelers drives alive. They handed the Steelers that Goff 'fumble' return. Rudolph did the same thing three times and some of his actually looked like fumbles.

then that Pass interference on Ramsey was a totally made up call. And the Rams have a TD pass in the end zone with a Steeler jumping on the Rams receiver, never turning his head of playing the ball and no PI was called? Are you sure you watched that game? The Rams had opportunities, but the refs squashed them while trying to keep Steelers drives alive.

the Steelers do have a good defense you know. For the Rams offense not to look it's best against them shouldn't be a surprise

3 offensive points. 8 punts. The offense sucked that day.
And for a fixed game, not sure why the refs didnt blow the whistle on the Rams opening fumble return TD, seems risky to "let' them have that early lead, no?
Either way, this horse has been beat to death, repeating the same stuff over and over. I'm out

You didn't address the people in New York. You seem fixated on the rams offense, it's a team game.

We all know the offense was off that day. But so was the stealers offense. And they got 14 free points from the fucks in New York and the rams were stolen 7 points at the end by the same jerks. Plus an obvious turnover to the rams at halfway wasn't given to them.

How many blatant game changing calls going one way have to happen before you start to go hmmmmm?
