In the 3rd round in a very early mock before I received information on all of his character issues. I was quite consistent when there were rumors that off-season before the Draft that we would draft him in Round 1 that I wanted nothing to do with him.

I hope, for his sake, that he has changed for good but that is a hard thing to do. He will crave drugs every day. Slip ups are right around the corner. It doesn't take much.

But as an NFL QB...I never saw it. He is short and skinny. Throwing with precision was not his game. Running around and hitting Evans on broken plays was his bread and butter. It'll be funny if New England brings him in and he wows everyone in a start when Brady is injured and they trade him for a first or second round pick. I think P.T. Barnum was Belichick's grandfather. There's a sucker born every minute.

Wow...a whole 90 days, but it also says he's stoked cause he hasn't used the hard stuff for almost a year.

Addiction(s) are a tough thing to fight through, and even though I think Manziel is a total Dbag I'd never make fun of another human about their battle with addiction or their sobriety claims. I don't think he can make it in the NFL but I hope he gets the help that he needs and stays clean.

Johnny Manziel has returned to the football field, but he’s a long way from a return to the NFL.

Manziel completed nine of 15 passes for 82 yards with one touchdown and three sacks in his first game for The Spring League, a minor league that Manziel is hoping will showcase his talent to NFL scouts.

After the game, Manziel admitted that his team’s offense was sloppy at times but said he was glad to be playing football again.

“It’s disappointing, some of the things that happened,” he told ESPN, “but nevertheless, it’s a huge step for me. I put pads back on. A lot of people wrote me off just to even get to this point. I’m definitely emotional about it. I’m definitely happy about it. This isn’t the end goal for me, but I’m having fun again. I have a smile on my face.”

Manziel says he’s hoping an NFL team will sign him, but if not he’d likely play in the Canadian Football League.

“The message that I’m sending is showing up every day and going to meetings,” he said. “Being engaged in everything that is going on during practice and in the game. I can’t control what is going on [with NFL teams’ interests] and I don’t know what’s going on in NFL meetings. If that’s the case, if the NFL is something that pops up, cool. If not, I’m going to work until I get back there. We’ll see how things play out.”

The 25-year-old Manziel last played in 2015, when he started six games for the Browns.

90 days for somebody with a severe addiction is a long time, and a year without the hard stuff is a great thing. He was immature coming out of college maybe never had a good role model maybe it’s just how he was wired. I commend him for trying to get his life right Albiet a little bit late now and wish the best for him. hopefully he can keep his life turned around and make it back to the NFL

Besides, he didn’t hurt anyone in his addiction and problems besides himself. It’s not like he raped or murdered or anything. He battled himself, we all have our issues and problems and if he had hurt others then I could understand the hatred for him but the guy simply made a mistake and is trying to come back from it. Best of luck to him.

Whitfield, his coach, says Manziel’s arm has more juice now than it did when he was coming out of Texas A&M, although he needs to keep working to improve his timing. Manziel has noticed a difference in his arm strength, as well.

Manziel knows his talent isn’t the real question NFL folks are going to have about him.

@Prime Time I know this isn't you saying this and so I wanted to point that out.

His arm had more juice LOL.........it's a popgun.

And if Manziel thinks people in the NFL don't doubt his talent he's a fool.

Would like to hear him say he’d be willing to play in the CFL for a year to prove he can handle it.

He wouldn't even make it there.........

I had forgotten about the details of his transgressions, it wasn’t pretty.
Alas, we have a TE on our team who caved in someone’s head and an oline coach who assaulted and threatened a teenager (and his family) and yet we “forgave” that.

It's all fraught with hypocrisy.
As for dealing with addicts, they are selfish.
They selfish in their addiction and selfish in their recovery. All lie to others at some point and some are very good at lying to themselves (I'm sober says the opioid addict who is taking methadone...."I've been off the hard stuff for a year"....that ain't sober).
If someone has a bad shoulder it affects....their shoulder and maybe can progress to affect other things if not treated. If someone is dealing with a brain ailment it is going to affect every aspect and relationship in their life.

At least twice that we know of........back in CLE he pulled over and was smashing her head into the window of the car they were driving. He literally grabbed her hair and was slamming her head into the window repeatedly until she was able to get out of the vehicle.

It wasn't a slap......he was beating her up in both cases.

I am pulling for him to have success in life. I am finding him to be an unwanted distraction for the NFL. He didn’t and doesn’t appear to have NFL talent.
