Maybe just some meniscus or MCL.
Maybe just a loose piece of cartilage thay needs a cleanup up.

Something was causing it to swell.

He looked slow and tentative to me in the last three to four games.

This. Plus, not all injuries need surgery. Look at Tavon Austin's injury this groin injury year. He missed many weeks (months even?) of playing time, so he clearly was not good enough to suit up, but he opted for rehab as opposed to surgery. If Todd is injured, and that injury doesn't need a medical procedure to be fixed, but rather just needs extensive treatment/rehab/strengthening and a good solid period of rest, then this can be easily swept under the rug by the organization.

Groin injuries are legit, I couldn't even play for almost 2 months. ACL both me and my buddy who is crazier than me were able to go on almost normally. He continued to play basketball on a fully torn ACL and I went a long time before I had Surgery. Time will tell what it was that bothered Todd but I think we all agree it was more than his head

Gurley had a leg injury this season. Perhaps more than one. There is no debating that. Speculation ranging from a strained ligament to full ACL tear. Has anyone heard from an "actual reliable source" exactly what the injury(s) was?

I agree with this for all knee surgeries EXCEPT full ACL reconstruction. That particular surgery has such a long recovery time that (if a player gets the injury late in season) teams are looking to get the surgery done ASAP.

If Gurley had had a full ACL tear, he would have had the surgery by now.

.

You guys are freaks, then. (y)

Most people can’t function well with a torn ACL (yeah, walking maybe, but not cutting sports)

I tore my ACL three times in the same knee back in the 80's . No way Gurley played on a torn ACL without a couple thousand dollar brace on it . No way ! I couldn't even step on uneven ground without it popping out.
I still don't think there was anything wrong with him besides the fact that McVay never got him into the flow of the game
3 and outs don't lead to many touches for anyone. I don't believe our TE's had anything wrong with them and they got 1 touch. Just a bad day for McVay and the offense . If I'm wrong I'll eat crow . Until then , that's my honest opinion.

It is a case by case thing. There are people that don't repair them at all and remain active even play sports.
Here are a couple accounts if people doing it. It seems as though the experience of a torn ACL os quite varied. I had minimal swelling and not much pain.
Rrad this it is pretty interesting

One in a thousand maybe . It hurts like a mother and no stability. I was at the game when Bradford tore his , and the look on his face told the story . He was in severe pain . I told my son when we saw it , that was it for Bradford. Yea you can get up and walk off , but that's about it . They drew 3 tubes of blood out of my knee and it hurt worse than anything I've ever experienced. No way Gurley has a torn ACL .

I agree it is extremely unlikely Todd had an ACL issue. I would bet the rate of people who don't get their ACL repaired or that still have mobility is much higher than 1 in a 1000 but yes it is rare. My ACL didnt even get repaired for months and was nowhere near the most painful thing I have experienced hence the case by case variances in pain and mobility

And there is no way that he could’ve played with it so soon if he had torn it. Plus if the ACL is torn there is no way you can change directions, as you aren’t allowed to plant your foot in order to do so without the knee buckling, which never happened.
Until we hear something official and credible this is a moot point. But go on speculating, for far be it from me to want to take away your joy.

Which is why I have never claimed Todd had a torn or partially torn ACL. I just wanted to share that ACL tear come with a wide variety of pain levels and variences in mobility. I am not going to guess what is going on with Todd. I can say I had a different experience than most with my injury

Yes. You. You’ve heard.
