I have read news and/or rumors that the Rams had several teams asking about Goff! IF, There was a lot of Interest/Curiosity about Goff does anyone have any ideas on if there were any actual offers from any other teams and what was being offered? As much as I like Matthew Stafford I still think the Rams overpaid (I greatly hope I am wrong and I guess only time will tell!)!

The only rationale I can get out of this trade is:
#1 The Rams think Stafford can get them back
to the Super Bowl (SOON!)!
#2 The Rams wanted to get out of Goff’s HUGE
Contract (I still don’t know if they
accomplished this!)!
#3 The relationship between Goff and McVay
got way out of hand and was unrepairable!

Probably TOTALLY WRONG and I would still like to know what else IF anything was offered for Goff!

By making the trade before 3/18/21, Detroit took on the rest of Goff's guarantees.

That's huge for us because as of now we have ZERO dead cap in 2022...

According to Peter Schrager of Fox Sports, multiple teams called the Rams about the possibility of trading for Goff prior to Saturday night’s blockbuster with the Lions. How accurate this report is remains to be seen. At first glance, the belief was that Los Angeles actually sent the Lions more in a trade for Stafford simply to rid itself of Goff’s bloated contract.

Don’t believe everything you read on this situation. There is going to be some damage control and clean up on isle 16.

One thing I do believe though is the “4 hour” meeting between Goff and Mcvay in which an intense exchange of words occurred.

That is when I believe Mcvay decided this won’t work. Jared Pulled the curtain down regarding some of the blame that Mcvay was due and his ego could not handle it.

That was the end of the marriage.

Man I'm gonna miss Goff to Woods and Goff to Kupp. Goff made some down right beautiful throws to those guys. My favorite was in the Vikings game in 2018 in the 2nd quarter with 3:50 to go Goff rolls to the right and hits Kupp in the corner of the endzone for a TD. Good times

Oh glob we're at Aaron Donald mode right now...

That’s the read I got from the Silver article as well. I think it was described as a 4-hour conversation where “Difficult things” were said to each other. You don’t talk for 4 hours about something pleasant - I’m speculating that both sides unloaded their respective frustrations about each other. There relationship was done at that point. That’s where the “marriage counseling” reports started.

I’ve said this in a few other posts - McVay has earned his reputation and deserves our trust. But now that he has his man at QB, there are no more excuses. If the offense somehow struggles (which I’m not expecting), it’ll be clearer that there are bigger schematic issues than most here realize.

When i'm visiting the Goff thread on ROD, i like to dive in with a box of cheddar jack flavored Cheez-It, made with 100% real cheese.

For what its worth, i never selected Goff as my QB in Madden franchise mode when i did my fantasy draft.

"I think it’s an interesting trade," Suh said. "Obviously, L.A. gave up a lot of stuff. They’ve been keen to giving up a lot of first-round picks and what not to get what they feel is best for their team. More power to them, and like I said, I mentioned that I spoke to Jared Goff the other day and just wanted to wish him the best and let him know if he needs anything in Detroit, cause it’s a city that I love and I’ve got a lot of quality relationships there, that I’m happy to pass on to him to make sure he’s comfortable and gets a fresh start there."

also there should be some ROD bonus of the post that reaches the #questfor100
