Happy Thanksgiving all!
What’s on your table today and what’s your favorite dish.

I’m roasting a dry brined turkey.

My wife makes homemade sourdough bread, so that’s what we use for the dressing. Paired with homemade Turkey stock, butternut squash, spicy Italian sausage and leaks….its amazing.

I infused some cream today with herbs and garlic for the mashed potatoes. I also add some whole grain mustard for a nice little pop.

Fresh cranberries

Green beans with bacon and bacon vinegarette.

I usually make candied yams, but left them off this time. My son asked for them today, so I may change my mind and make them anyway.

Of course Gravy. Made with that Turkey stock and drippings.

I’m smoking a turkey today. Just put it on at 8am. I injected it yesterday morning with a grand marnier and sage sauce then this morning I injected clarified butter into it. I stuffed it with a chicken sausage/apple/tangerine/fennel stuffing I make. I generally hate stuffing but this usually comes out pretty damn tasty.

Sides are a Mediterranean green salad that one of my cooks is making. My wife is making her fabulous mashed potatoes with sour cream, butter, and garlic. She’s also doing the candied yams. I’m making the gravy from the giblets and drippings of the turkey. And of course jellied cranberry sauce.

I went wine tasting last weekend so there will be plenty of that flowing. Might have a scotch or a rum as well.

We just have a small group this year - 8 of us.

I missed getting your address - or the time this will be done.... you got that handy?!?!?? :woozy2: :wow2:

Got it pretty easy today and tomorrow.... Two meals!
Tomorrow we are visiting my son and his wife for dinner. Along with my daughter and her hubs, there will be six of us... 'cuz my other kid is in Belize over Thanksgiving. Bummer life...

Today, because we are free, we got invited to my wife's side of the family for dinner tonight - she made hr famous dinner rolls and a couple of pumpkin/pecan pies. There will probably be 30 people there - or more... :dizzy:

Thanks Dodgers… Now no matter what we fix it will be dog-shit by comparison.

Turkey slow cooking in the oven with hatch red chilli sauce or gravy; carrots, onions, celery and red potatoes going to cook in the drippings in a few; green beans with sausage and onions, my godmother’s sweet potato pie recipe, fresh cranberry and citrus puree, ambrosia; stuffing with sausage and celery, and pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting.

A nice Zinfandel to pair and a couple of beers to pregame. Cheers fellas!! Hope everyone is happy to join with family and friends, and have the humility to accept what we are thankful for in life.
