FIFY!He could not run hardly any of the routes in the route tree, ESPECIALLY after a couple of years ON THAT Rams team.
FIFY!
For real though. From Holts last season until the Rams drafted Kupp, the only recievers who could run a route worth a damn were past their prime vets signed as FA's and we never got to enjoy them for long. Clayton and Lloyd come to mind... that was about it. Stedman Bailey could run routes ok when he arrived, but on those Jeff Fisher teams, no WR could actually develop. If he hadn't tragically been a victim of that drive by, I think he would have flourished under McVay.
I don't hate Fisher. He did a lot to set us up for success after his departure.... but damn if his coaches on offense weren't absolutely useless...
Such as on the rule changes? For better or worse?Bad pick but it was a gamble. If he came out in 2019 I wonder how different his career would be with how the rules have changed etc..
I've read every comment. Thanks for your input. You've made me want to clarify my bust comment.
I agree with many of you who said "Tavon is a bust at pick #10 in the draft, and the draft capital we gave up for him ... but not a bust in the sense that he can be a good WR4 and break one now and then as a gadget player.
But that 2nd high paying contract at the time it was given? What????
Well that’s all fine, but if any Rams Fan liked Tavon Austin, they should like the Tutu Atwell as well.
We’ll see what happens, but his injury is sort of like a blessing to all.I mean Sean Mcvay has a method to his MADNESS!! I can go into if anyone wants.
I really like this Rams team & upset I erased these last couple games to go back to.Mainly Green Bay,but so passed that. There sidelines & Joe Barry I wanted to check out.
Yea I remember that nonsense. Him an Linehan were a joke.Good Lord I remember when the Rams hired Tony Softli from the Panthers, he was supposed to be this Draft Guru with all the analytics at the time plus software & quantifiable data and the when he got to St. Louis all he had was a ruler & pencil. I could not believe they hired the guy, they thought they were getting Dirty Harry and the Rams hired Barney Fife.
For about a decade, it seemed like the Rams couldn't find a decent WR. They passed on both Alshon and Hopkins, and both were obvious choices. Instead, they tried to be the smartest team in the room, and failed. No, what made the pick not really worth it is that we passed on DeAndre Hopkins who was just sitting there for the taking.
