How many huge punt returns of Tavon’s that were called back? Seems like 50.

Drafted the same year as Cordarelle Patterson who is thriving with a coach who is using him correctly.

Tavon had/has his limitations.

I always felt like if an NFL coach wanted to really use him he could be effective. But I think ultimately his size would have hindered him in that sense even.

I see the way Patterson is being used by Falcons and I have no doubt Tavon could've succeeded in that sense of get the ball in his hands 10-15 times a game no matter what way.

Tavon was always an effective running back in my opinion he just did not have the body to thrive in that spot with durability.

I agree with to an extent @Ellard80. I also confess I purchased his jersey but it came from China work buddy did a mass order so like only $28 total....I don't think it's worth 50 Cent. I donated to Goodwill a few years ago. Bad Rams colors at the time too. Regardless I still enjoyed watching him pop it off here and there. NOT a bust!

For me a bust doesn't have 21 touchdowns. A bust is Greg Robinson, Tye Hill, Brian Quick, Jason Smith and Lawrence Phillips to name a few.
Absolutely was over drafted but just doesn't seem like a bust to me, I think that word is over used to signal somebody was disappointed with the players on field performance. He stuck around and has for a while, B Quick has been out of the league what 3 years and came into the NFL the year before Tavon.

Also, didn't Tavon abuse Pat McAfee as well that particular WE all remember? I rememberwatching it in my living room it was incredible. , I listen to PMS daily yet he's never mentioned Tavon on his show. I bet it's related.

If he's a bust then I'm not looking forward to the Tutu threads in 5 years. Was he worth trading up for? Absolutely not. Was he a bust? I'd say yes given the trade, but not on the level of Jason Smith or Greg Robinson. He did have a year with 10TDs and was always an elite threat on special teams. He must have had 5 return TDs called back due to flags. But when you trade up to pick 8 for the #1 WR in the draft, you're expecting elite HOF level production. Especially when you take Tavon over DeAndre Hopkins, Keenan Allen, and Robert Woods in that 2013 class.:wow2:

To me… being a bust isn’t about other players, it’s about the individual picked.
Merriam-Webster defines “bust” as a total flop.
He wasn’t that.
The team got some value out of him for a few years.

He certainly wasn’t worth what they spent to get him.

Nice. He was a great returner. I was at the game @ the Cowboys and remember that return that got called back, it was so frustrating. It was the same game our prized free agent Jake Long got put literally on his ass by Demarcus Ware.

Austin reminds me of Taysom Hill. Bust by pure QB standards but he does contribute as a role player and affect the game. Tavon was terrible as a WR but really good as a gadget guy. Just drafted too high. 3rd or 4th round would have been about right to me.
