I would be VERY surprised if Peters played Thursday. I just can’t see it. Gamesmanship by McVay? Who knows, perhaps.
I think the confusion is what was first reported to what is now the current prognosis. Peters is now day to day but we all know with only a couple of days rest he won't be able to go Thursday. We definitely need Peters for the long run. My guess is he misses this week and the next.

Yeah, I can't see it happening, not with Talib out for an extended time. You roll without Peters this week, if for nothing else, precaution. We can still win without them this week.

I agree, with our juggernaut offense and some tweaking of the defense by Wade we will have our revenge Thursday. Vikings defense is hurting too and they weren't playing great to begin with. Just go back and watch that game vs SF.

Honestly....we need Peters for this Thursday and then not for these three road games. Let him rest for four weeks and bring him back for the Packers game.

Seattle and San Francisco don't have WRs that are even better than Sheilds/Hill/NRC - Denver does but our D should be able to hang with them.

And if we do end up beating the Vikings, it wouldn't be surprising to keep Peters out until we lose a game.

If Peters can play, he'll play.

If he plays, I don't think he'll take weeks off unless he re-aggravates it.

If he does play, I would expect them to rotate the safety to his side more often and let Sam Shields solo it up.

People forget how good Shields was before the concussions. And both Talib and Peters have said that Shields is the fastest guy on D.

I hope he's back in time for a playoff run:

""Rams cornerback Aqib Talib will have surgery on his injured ankle on Thursday and head coach Sean McVay said the team would have an idea about his recovery timeline after the operation.

It will be at least eight weeks before he’s back in the lineup, however. The team announced on Wednesday that Talib has been placed on injured reserve.

Talib will be eligible to be designated as one of the team’s two players to return from IR in six weeks and he can be activated two weeks after that. McVay said the team hopes he will be able to return down the line.""

Wtf?! I though 3-4 weeks? Why surgery? Damn looked a basic rolled ankle.

I so very badly want Hatfield to play and have a great game. In fact I’m gonna search for recipes to cook crow right now.

Me too. I get the "lack of love" for Hatfield, but I seem to remember him doing a few nice things in preseason.
I don't know this for sure, but vs the Vikes might have been his first NFL action, Keenum was fucking on fire that day, and oh btw, Theilen's pretty damn good.

From earlier reports 3 to 4 months....

IMO at age 32 he is done.

Sorry and hope I'm wrong...

Sounds like 2-4 months, depending on whether deltoid is ruptured.

I’m holding out hope Talib can return in time for playoffs.

I too sadly think Aqib Talib played his last game as a Ram. Unless he has unexpectedly fast recovery, I don't see him having much to suit up for at his age. He doesn't need another ring. Hope I'm wrong.

It would not be surprising to me if your right in saying that Talib may end up later this season playing his last season @ CB for the Rams. AT is under contract for the rest of this season & through 2019. AT will make 8 million next season if he is here. It would not be surprising to me if the Rams offer CB Sam Shields a contract for the 2019/2020 seasons to start @ corner with Marcus Peters & NRC if he can return to previous play when he was with the Packers.

I do not see safety Lamarcus Joyner signing a future contract after this season thus leaving a vacancy a starting safety. I do see that when the 2019 season begins the 33 yr old 6-1 210 lb Aqib Talib will line up in the Lamarcus Joyner position in our secondary.

AT would bring prototypical size & athleticism, proven talents to read the QB, outstanding ball skills with excellent abilities to deflect passes at the last moment & great windom to the rear end of our secodary. How would QB's feel about throwing deep in our secondary with a Talib back there as a free wide ranging deep safety?
