So the Iggles won a SB with a QB drafted in the 2nd round and another SB with a QB drafted in the 3rd round. During their Iggle careers, both QBs replaced a highly drafted 1st round QB (ok, yeah, the same one). In both SBs, the QB won the SB MVP. Both times the Iggles beat a first ballot HOF'er.

It's a copycat League. The Iggles have accomplished stuff without the typical, highly-touted franchise QB. Let's see if any of these NFL GMs try to sell/spin the Iggles success as a template or something.
Yeah, you can win a superbowl without that HOF caliber franchise quarterback. Build a solid run game. A decent pass game and be very good on both lines. But, if you want to be in the conversion year after year, that franchise quarterback is the way to go. Eagles were impressive this year. But what will they look like in 3 years? As long as the Chiefs have Mahomes, they will always be in the mix. Same with Allen in Buffalo and Jackson in Baltimore. Those two haven't won it all yet but they will always give them a chance.

I hate eagles fans.
I accept that the chefs aren't winning it every year.
That could've been us waxing the chefs.

Asked in the game thread but left before seeing if anybody had an answer...what exactly was Reid's gameplan on offense? Did they get thrown off at the first snap...?

Chiefs appeared fraudulent much of the year.

Their smoke and mirrors o-line had been an issue all year and it wrecked them yesterday.

I got over the Rams losing to the Eagles, but seeing how much closer to winning we came than GB (22-10) Wash (55-23), KC (40-22), now I feel worse. Yardage in those games GB 302-290, Rams 402-350, Eagles 459-350, Eagles 345-275 (mostly garbage yards for KC).

We've got to get back to the show next year!

The Eagles? They have their "elite" QB, He's one of the highest paid QB at 51 mill per season and one of the largest Guaranteed deals out there (179 mill)
So when Purdy becomes one of the highest paid QBs this season, will you consider him elite?

The ROD board loved him but it just wasn't in the cards. We never would have gotten Fiske either.
We moved up to 39 for Fiske. DeJean was drafted at 40. Personally, I would like DeJean over Fiske but am happy with either.

I was hoping someone spiked the Gatorade with Xlax and both teams got explosive diarrhea.

In reality, the Rams are very close to being the Gold standard in the NFC. We hung with the Eagles up until the end and we had a chance to beat them. There's no telling how we would have played against the Commodes and then KC but I would suspect we would have at least made it to the big game.

The SB has taught me two things. One, we need to keep building in the trenches on both sides of the ball, that includes TE's and LB's. And two, we need to invest into a #1 CB. I think there's a good chance Spoon comes back and takes that #2 spot. He deserves to get paid.

Hurts is my QB1 in Dynasty but even still, every time he gets out there and runs I keep hoping somebody pops his ass and separates the ball from his body. Or his head, don't really care....

Agreed.

But you find plenty of people, on this forum and elsewhere, who appear to think that you're fucked if you don't have an elite QB. The Eagles, and others, have shown that this isn't true.
You need a competent QB, but every team must have some legit strengths no matter what. Whether its a QB, a defense, an offense, whatever. Just so happens that the Eagles number #1 ranked defense was much better than KC's offense, and their offense did enough to create points off of those opportunities.
