Having one sure makes the margin for error bigger though.
Agreed.

But you find plenty of people, on this forum and elsewhere, who appear to think that you're fucked if you don't have an elite QB. The Eagles, and others, have shown that this isn't true.

In general, it's true. Sean McVay believes this as well or Goff would still be here.

God I hate the Eagles but dayum that is such a well constructed team. Hats off to them. I hate their fans and their coach is a d--bag but I really like a lot of their players.
And boy would I love to have a QB with wheels

When he traded for Stafford it was after a season where Rodgers had GB with the one seed, and was beaten by Tampa who came out of nowhere after signing Brady. And Goff regressed that year.

And in the previous 10 or so SBs, they were all won by franchise QBs outside of the Foles SB and a washed Manning winning with the Broncos defense.

The Eagles? They have their "elite" QB, He's one of the highest paid QB at 51 mill per season and one of the largest Guaranteed deals out there (179 mill)

Eagles OL and DL are tough to beat. They drafted well with the two corners: DeJean and QMitchell to complement their pass rush.. With the tons of “beef” on both sides of their trenches, the Eagles may get to the SB again next year.

They get it, for sure.

That won’t be the case if the rumours that he is happy to go with Jimmy G this year turn out to be true.
But it WAS the case in 2021 and that's a fact which resulted in a Super Bowl win.

McVay determined that Goff wasn't good enough in 2020 and saw an upgrade in Stafford and he was right. Lets not turn this into another Goff thread

Can we do away either this misguided notion that coordinators going g through i terviews can't focus on the game finally? Kellen Moore was masterful last night.

Anyone with a degree of common sense understand that, however, it is convenient to communicate that issue as an excuse.

I guess Andy Heck was up for a big job because he was obviously distracted.;)

Well he doesn't need a game plan really. Hand off to Barkley. Throw back shoulder or go routes on the outside. Tush push. Brotherly butt fuck. Has to be the simplest gameplan in the NFL. Overwhelming talent on both sides. GM should be MVP

I had issues with his first quarter of play calls, where he seemed to run it every first down. I’m also not a big fan of the QB option and keepers where you’re putting your most highly paid player at risk of an injury.

There were also bad decisions by Spags to zero blitz, which allowed for Hurts to just loft them up and let his receivers run under them.

What was amazing about the game is how the running back, the guy who is responsible for running with the ball, did not fumble it away.
