...and play him like wilson and that midget in zona. Keep him in the pocket, put your foot on his throat, and keep it there until the game is over...or he is gonna get up, squirt loose, and make a play.

Our secondary does not match up well with them, but they are scrappy and if Scott lowers the boom on someone like he did on Sunday...

Play a clean game, no huge mistakes, and sooner or later the Rams will overtake and put them away.

...or we could just blow them out and end the suspense. I’m perfectly ok with that.
The addition of Von Miller has made the Rams' defensive front almost impossible to defend. The stunts are better, the pressure is constant, there's no escape for the qb. And we can stuff the run.

It has finally started to dawn on the talking heads that the additions of Miller and OBJ were not merely glitzy big name signings. Miller has brought about a fundamental structural upgrade to our d line. OBJ has enabled the pass game to continue at a high level even after losing Woods though his skill set is quite different.

I don't think Burrow is used to being chased by a line that is really, always going to run him down and smash him.

We match up well... but everyone thought we were going to walk over the patriots in two different super bowls and got beat.

lets not let that shit happen again.

They remind me of the Cards with a healthy Hopkins, but with a much better QB.

This won't be a walk in the park and you can't let up if you get up on them. That QB is special.

I hope this won't be the next Brady and we better not usher him in like we did Brady in 01'

That 01 Super Bowl to me don’t count with all the mugging and defensive holding that went on not too mention the tapping and recording of the practices.

This team is too hungry the difference is the Bengals feel like they already won cause their in the Super Bowl. We know we haven’t won until we Win the Super Bowl

Burrow is a great QB, Chase is tremendous and Wiggins not far if at all behind. Bengals are not to be underestimated.

But defense wins championships. Especially the ability to bring tremendous pressure on a passing QB. We have it and to a rare degree. We got it, and they don't.

Unless we hand them the game with turnovers and mistakes the Rams win.

Bengals are an anomaly: Burrow got sacked 9 times in the divisional round and still squeaked out a win vs the Titans and their coaching staff made one of the best second half adjustments in a playoff game vs the Chiefs.

We’re more than capable of beating these guys but I would proceed with caution and take what their defense gives us by not forcing the big plays. Patshook Machoke tried playing heroball too often and it cost them the game while Burrow’s been playing mind over matter football

Absolutely the Rams match up well. The Bengals are not to be taken lightly. Their QB is dangerous and throws with a strong arm and good accuracy. Burrows is mobile but not a running threat like Murray or Wilson. That said he did run for 2 TDs and 14 first downs during the regular season. Their front 7 is good but from what I've seen nothing worse than the Rams have already faced. They have good CBs but faced with Ram's multiple receivers they will be in zone most if not all the game. Kupp is the ultimate dismantler of zone schemes. The OL is ordinary but they have good RBs who run with power and speed. Their OL should be no match for the Ram pass rush DL.

Morris definitely needs to play the combo of Robinson and Gaines on early downs, but he can't go light in the box on passing downs as they are a threat to run on all downs. If the Rams can get Higbee and Rochell back that would be huge. Darious Williams is playing himself out of an extension. That said he's not a good fit in Morris' scheme. Williams isn't a zone CB.

The Bengals are a pretty damn good team. They have to be given they have gotten this far and done so in an impressive fashion. That said given all the AFC playoff teams I wanted this matchup. This will be a straight-up dog fight where even if the Rams get out front they can't allow this team to hang around (hear me Raheem?). They are a junkyard dog that is dangerous if you allow them to get too close.

JaMar Chase is big and lightning-fast. If ever Morris was going to have Ramsey cover a WR for an entire game this is the game. IMO he is their primary weapon. Let Williams cover Boyd, he doesn't have the speed to cover Chase. This is why I hope Rochell can return. It's exactly why I see Rochell as the Ram's starting CB opposite Ramsey next year. Rochell like Ramsey is long and fast with superb athleticism. Once Rochell fully develops his ceiling is that of another Ramsey.

Yeah, the Bengals are good, but the Rams are built to beat teams like them which is why I wanted this match-up over the other possibilities.

The Rams are already favored and should be.

To beat the Bengals we need for McVay not to get too cute with his play calling and the Ram secondary to be ON THEIR GAME.

The recipe is pretty simple because the Rams are the stronger team.

* Balanced offensive attack

*Excellent special teams play

*Sound strong secondary defense

*ZERO turnovers

We've seen both the Titans and the Chiefs lose to Cincy mainly because of Turnovers...this is a team you don't let back in the game!!!

It might make more sense to put Ramsey on Higgins and bracket Chase?
Yes. The classic approach is to double the top threat and remove his ass. Chase is the top threat. Then put your CB1 on the second threat. So I'd move Ramsey around to give that young QB another random element to consider.

And Scott/Weddle/ILBs need to be ready for those slants.

The bengals were getting torched trying to play the Chiefs straight up in the first half, in the 2nd half they started rushing 3 and trying to contain Mahomes in the pocket. You would think having a lead the Chiefs would be content to run the ball and keep the clock moving but like McVay sometimes Reid can’t help himself and kept throwing despite Mahomes struggles.
It's actually a good thing for us the way KC lost. McVay and the rest of these offensive guys need to accept that dual safety looks are fucking nasty on QBs. Even great ones.

Going into this one my #1 goal would be to fucking mash on the ground. I would be planning on knocking them off the ball early and run it up their fucking asses. Do that and this game is over because they will not be able to stop our pass game if the run is there.

And of course our defense has to be ready. But just like prior to the SF game I am not worried about them. I will just say that Burrow is not a typical year two QB. This is a vet QB in terms of your prep and he's cocky and resilient so gotta keep that press on for a full 60.

regarding the uniforms....if Cincy goes dark jersey I hope Rams go either solid Bone, or throwback yellow pants white jersey...If Cincy goes white then either Blue over bone or yellow....bottom line...LEAVE the BLUE pants home...
Yes if we have to wear whites then I favor the yellow pants with the white jerseys. It has the classic uni feel.

Either way just don't go with dirty bananas. I dislike that combo. :laugh1:

He is very capable of Bradying us. Unfortunately for this excellent young QB this defense is hungry. I don't think he's seen anything like what he's about to see from AD and company smelling that ring.

Do not underestimate the Bengals at all.

Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Tyler Boyd are as good as Kupp, OBJ, and Woods. Without Woods, I place them ahead of us as the best in the game right now. Chase is already one of the best in the game. Higgins is underrated as well; he's easily one of the best number two receivers in the game, and he can get deep in a hurry. Boyd is their slot receiver, their third down weapon. And they have some underrated tight ends. They aren't the main feature, but they're solid in both passing and blocking.

I absolutely despise Joe Mixon for his off-the-field-hitting-women issues, but he's a really fucking good running back. Physical and powerful enough to grind out tough yards, yet one of the fastest running backs in the game, and he is good in the passing game as well. If I can, I'd shut him down before Burrow, but you cannot put Reeder on him. You just can't because he will flat-out burn guys like Reeder. Jones and Howard should be the starters.

Their offensive line is bad in pass-protection, but when it comes to moving bodies, they're good. I hope we get SJD back, be able to rotate him with A-Rob. Donald is going to feast, if we can keep the ball from leaving Burrow's hands.

As for their defense, don't underestimate their front four; they can get after the quarterback, as they proved in the previous playoff games. Hendrickson and Hubbard are tough on the outside, and while they don't have any big names inside, they've proven that they can get a push. Their linebackers may be the strength of the team; Logan Wilson is a very good linebacker, and Germaine Pratt is not far behind. They have an elite safety in Jessie Bates, a good one in Bell and a bunch of solid corners. Their defensive coordinator should be getting some serious props because this is while missing Joesph Ossai (a guy I really liked in the draft as a pass rusher), Larry Ogunjobi (very underrated defensive tackle), and a slew of outside linebackers. I wonder about the Bengals getting people back because if they do, the defense is only going to get tougher.

And as Evan McPherson proved, he's absolutely clutch and he can hit it from distance.

It's going to be a lot harder than it looks. I still think the Rams are the favorites, but it's not an easy opponent by a longshot.

This is definitely a game where we can attempt to run the ball. It’s the more safer path to Victory vs a defense that isn’t big time run stoppers.

While i would love to see us light them up with the pass game and we can, their is always a risk involved. Stafford led the league in interceptions and pick 6’s the last half of the season.

I would expect a 60-40 pass run ratio in this one with us hitting some big plays off PA.

I agree and for that reason this one reminds me a bit of the Super Bowl matchup vs Brady the first time. I recall looking at that game and thinking "this is ours." Of course it wasn't and it's kind of in the back of my head looking at this matchup.

I'm with you though in spite of that, because I have faith in these guys now. As far as they've come. The way they have improved and still are improving. I am convinced we're gonna win this one.

Yes, but Zac Taylor is no Bill Belichik. And I doubt Lou Anarumo is either.

Apropos of nothing, when I searched Anarumo to verify the spelling, google gives me this little nugget:

"People also search for

Kevin Coyle
Joe Philbin
Dan Campbell
Vance Joseph"

Joe Philbin? Really...why? Who the fuck is googling Joe Philbin?

60/40 sounds about right to me. As long as the runs are productive early - and they should be. If they aren't, McVay is going to air it out.

Its our defense that I expect to win this game for us. AD, Von, Gaines, and Floyd are going to be able to taste it by the time the 3rd quarter rolls around.

Absolutely true. But there was a time when Belichick was not yet Belichick. And he made his name shutting down great offenses in big games as DC.

Anarumo just had an excellent game vs KC. That was a hell of a big performance by his unit. So while I fully agree with you and I'm glad we don't have Belichick ahead, I am still thinking the Rams need to put together another great team game to win.

If the Rams nap in this one they may launch another great QB playoff career. Fuck that.

We're actually playing a team I don't hate. I absolutely love Burrow and the Bengals. Love Burrows cocky but confident and cool personality. But not in 2 weeks!
i like burrow because the buckeyes effed up letting him transfer and then win a title with LSU. worked out well for joe b (not hall).

If I read it right in that article, the only way we can use the white jerseys is if they pick and get permission to use their alternate orange jerseys.

Rams feast on bad o lines and they're going to be surprised by our front because it's not KC
I'd be surprised if ANYONE is surprised by our D-line. I think the entire league knows what our D-line is capable of
