Hey everyone. The family and I relocated to the East Coast (Hilton Head Island, SC) last year. And, yes...I'm keeping my handle Alaskan Ram. haha.

But, on a more serious note, I killed my DIRECTV account after last season...and am now in a pickle on how to watch all the games.
I haven't missed a live game in several years.

The way I see it, the only guaranteed games I can watch in the comfort of my own living room are the Sunday/Monday/Thursday primetime games. And the irony there, is those games are past my bedtime. Seriously East Coast folks, how the hell you stay up that late? I miss a lot of things about Alaska - - including cracking open a frosty beer in the middle of the Sunday early games that started at 9am. Hell, the night games starting at 4pm and ending at 7pm didn't suck either.

But I digress....

I'll watch the primetime games....I'll just be dog shit at work the next day.
I'm estimating half of the remaining 12 out of market games will get televised in my area if the Rams stay contenders. That leaves me sharpening my pencil on if it is worth it to do the Sunday Ticket Max at $395. Fuck that's a ton of money. But so is a bunch of $100 + bar tabs at one of the local sports bars.

Anybody else crunching numbers with the season starting soon?

What in the cornbread hell is a guy supposed to do?

Please advise.
Oh, and go Rams!

Sunday ticket is a no brainer for me. I play a lot of fantasy so If the rams aren't playing I love watching the redzone channel. hopefully directv loses its rights in the next year or two and there are other options but until then directv has me by the balls. I would spend more money and get more shit from my wife if I tried going the bar route every Sunday.

Stream them

I live in WV and
I haven’t missed one game other than theBuffalo game when my internet was out due to the fricking cable company cutting my line when they installed a neighbors line.
Make sure you have a proper program blocking your IP address

First of all CONGRATS on moving to Hilton Head. Welcome to the Carolinas.
I live in N.C. and have been there a time or two and it's a beautiful place to live. Just be ready for the storms.

I simply refuse to pay for Sunday Ticket anymore. It's a monopoly and the NFL has no problem sticking it to
the fans. I could see and would pay 250.00 or so but the 400.00 is just ridiculous.
I have found a site that I watch all the Ram games for free without any interruption.
If your interested just hit me up when the games start. Also have a good site to rewatch old games as well.

You're missing a very important part of the equation my Brudda.

When you watch the game at a sports bar... you will have a bar tab. It's WAY MORE expensive to watch the games out like that.

So the truth is... Sunday Ticket actually SAVES you money... and time. You can watch the night games in bed if you need to.

BTW... you're only a few hours away from me now. Sooner or later we're gonna finally get to meet! Let me know if you head down to O-Town.

My issue with the sports bar is sometimes you're on a shit TV and you can't hear a damn thing. Not that the commentary is ever that exciting, but I like to hear a little something.

I went with gamepass in Ireland, and will again next year. Mostly because you can stream the games live outside of the US (or with a VPN I'm assuming) and if I fall asleep or feel like catching the game the next day I can watch the condensed version and cut out all the bullshit, then back to the full game version if I want to watch a particular series or play with more detail/replays.

Hell yeah bro! I'll be down at Moke of America Orlando soon to add vehicles to our growing golf cart rental rental business. That and Disney world with family. Give a shout if you're this way too.

If you pay for college or know someone who goes, Sunday Ticket offers a big discount to college students. I used my daughter’s info - college and ID#. Used her credit card # and paid her cash.
$120 per year. They just confirmed auto-renewal for this season.

Hey, Alaska… Late games on East coast… I hear you! Painful. I’ve been here 10yrs and still not adapted to games starting 9:30pm. (It’s worse for me in Atlantic time zone). Urg. And… the Rams have a lot of them this year.

Also… Go Sunday Ticket. All the way. I justify the cost by the game.

If you want to tinker, then dick around with streams. Me… I want my feed pristine and ready for game day… so Ticket it is.

I dumped Direct TV. Screw them. I don’t miss the $180 a month expense. I stream most games on my TV with Hulu or YoutubeTV. What I cannot do that way I stream on my kindle or I wait 45 minutes and watch on Game Pass.

Welcome to Easy Coast sports on TV. It’s the suck.

I used to have Sunday Ticket when I was in San Diego only because I got a huge discount, otherwise I couldn't afford it.

Since my time in Mexico, it's been Express VPN and Hulu which works pretty well. I can record the games Rams, Chargers, and Hawks and watch them at my leisure skipping over the commercials. Hell between Hulu, Prime, Netflix, and Disney (for Star Wars stuff) I don't miss commercial TV or traditional cable at all. Since I my son has always paid for Netflix and Disney I can split the cost.

NFL Game Pass. Sorry if it has been mentioned earlier. $100 a year. It is a bummer that you have to wait until after the game is over to watch, but you can watch the entire game or a condensed version after. You can also watch games from the last ten years or so.

Said this a few years ago, but you do have another option.

I prefer the ticket because of fantasy, and we put three games on at once - but...

Get YouTubeTV - $65/month, can cancel after the season if you don't like it

Download an app called fake GPS

The deal with YouTubeTV thats cool is that when you're traveling, it gives you the local channels for where you are based on your phones gps.

Open the fake GPS app, put your location in LA (or anywhere that's showing the Rams), exit the app, kill your YouTubeTV app and then reopen it. It'll say "Welcome to Los Angeles" (or wherever you "are")
