I've made some people very angry with this conversation. Apparently telling people that boxing and MMA aren't sports really upsets people.

Interesting. So, is mma an activity or a game? Remeber, those are the 3 options.....unless, of course a 4th option proves relevant.

I've always said it was an athletic event. I guess you could call it an activity, but that kind of sells the skill short a bit.

I'm ready to say it's wrong. Don't like disinformation in any context.

I get that but if it was between the niners and the pats getting suh I could see me doing something like this on both teams forums.

Having Suh is exciting, but a part of me wishes the drama was lower for this young and talented Rams team (and coaching staff). Still wonder if it would be easier/better to bring in the younger (and less-locker room stress) Hankins. He fits the scheme better, will be cheaper, and is less likely to be a distraction.

Will still cheer for Suh, and still hope (I think) that it happens, but wish it was more clear cut in my mind.

  • 6'4"HEIGHT
  • 33 1/2"ARM LENGTH
  • 307LBS.WEIGHT
  • 10 1/4"HANDS

OVERVIEW
Suh is an excellent combination of size, strength and athleticism. He isn?t a massive body but has enough power to play as a nose tackle in a 3-4 scheme or as a 4-3 defense tackle or end. He utilizes excellent hand strength and quickness to control defenders. Suh is often unblockable for one offensive lineman and draws many double teams from opposing offenses. He shows great range to make plays outside the tackle box and is quick to shed blockers to get to the ball. Suh is a disruptive lineman that can create havoc with penetration versus the running game. Suh has developed an expanded pass rush package with counters coming off his initial power move. His production, power, athleticism, technique and versatility make him arguably the best interior defender in this years draft. Suh is a dominating player that projects as an impact defender in his rookie season.

ANALYSIS
STRENGTHS
Suh has a supreme blend of power and explosiveness from the defensive tackle spot. Possesses great size and strength to hold up at the point of attack in the running game or bull rush the pocket. Uses his athleticism and instincts to chase down running plays. Highly-competitive performer with a big-time motor. Terrific hand use to disengage against the run. Suh?s been a highly-productive and versatile player during his career.
WEAKNESSES
Not many weaknesses in Suh?s game. Durability is one minor area of concern. Sustained a knee injury in 2005 which required surgery and resulted in a medical redshirt. Dealt with another knee injury during spring drills in 2007. Did remain healthy from that point forward.

Suh can play anywhere on the D Line. Doubled teamed and still disruptive. With Donald they will make OGs and OCs lives miserable. He is perfect fit for Wade Phillips NT.

I don't know anything about the Dolphins locker room except they have been a team going nowhere. The Rams have a strong coaching staff and locker room. This Rams team has very competitive players that will want to win and have a little edge they were lacking. If Suh becomes a Rams it will show he is a little more mature and wants to keep a cleaner image.

If I said the same thing about NASCAR and WWE wrestling would it generate another page of posts in the quest to 100?

Any race where you only turn left is not a sport. And WWE? Where's my folding chair?

Ill put NASCAR drivers in the athlete category but anyone calling the pit crew athletes have been too close to the gas can guy. You do not need to be an athlete to hop over a small wall and wipe a window or stick a gas jug in a hole or even jack up a car. I am impressed by the fact that they can do all this in 14 dseconds but athletes they are not.

:burp: DNA rifle fighting is a real sport.

Discuss.

When you have animals doing the fighting it is not a sport....unless you're fighting the animal and its not bull fighting.

If you fight a bear or a moose with gloves, ill call you anything you want, but to throw a chicken in a ring to fight another chicken is bullshit and inhumane.

I agree. WWE is a play, like Cats or Rent. NASCAR is definitely not a sport. However, I am willing to accept motorsport as a completely different genre of competitive stuff and say that NASCAR is a motorsport.
