Thanks! I have to admit that I really didn't think think the Rams had any chance signing Suh but now I am getting my hopes up!!! Signing Suh would be HUGE for the Rams!!!!

Im willing to admit it. I was in that camp, and not knowing what we didnt know, I would probably do it all over again.
The reality is that neither were all they were made out to be, neither made a difference to change the fortunes of the teams that drafted them. Suh was always the better football player... but Sam is a QB. Its still apples and oranges.

The fact remains if they felt he was a franchise QB, as did many draft experts, then you have to take him.

That's like saying if Wentz tears his knee up again and fizzles out like RG3, then the Eagles made a dumb move trading up for him. Tgat would be nonsense. You can't predict injuries like that, so you have to take the player who can make the biggest impact and that will always be the QB.

I mean right now, considering what each player has accomplished, would you cut Goff or Donald if you had to make that decision? You take, or in this scenario, keep the quality player at the impact position, even if he is a lesser player. Goff, as a good young QB, is more valuable than a HOF DT.... just the way it is.

So in hind-sight you can say the Rams would have been better off without Bradford, but you can't say it was a bad decision at the time.

Sorry! I thought I checked to see if it had been mentioned but I missed it. This is getting pretty encouraging/exciting! I am keeping my fingers crossed for good news and hopefully SOON!
I too think it's very encouraging!! Rapoprt and Mike Silva are both reporting that Suh canceled his visit to the Raiders after visiting the Rams, liked the Rams, and was returning home to ponder his choices. Now that sounds promising to me at the very least!!

Has any player who has never played for us ever generated so much conversation on Rams message boards??

I cant think of any. Suh was likely the most discussed non-Ram BEFORE this recent FA scenario.
Seriously, between the endless Bradford Vs Suh draft debate and now this... Its an interesting turn of events for sure.

When you select a QB at 1 overall, you discuss them in terms of being there for a decade. The expectation is long term. Bradford was touted as the best traditional QB prospect since Peyton Manning and Suh was a generational talent who will bring dominance to your defense for years to come...

Oh the irony in thinking we might face Sam Bradford this year with a better QB, also taken 1st overall, an even better DT than Suh, the true "generational talent" in Donald....... and Ndamukong Suh himself?

Its a crazy world folks.

If I went back in time, I'd trade the #1 pick to keep the Rams from ruining Bradford's career.

RE: Bradford... With the information at the time, I was 100% Bradford.

Hindsight; I’d probably have traded the pick for as many picks possible.

Let me give my opinion on Suh, as you are all so very opinionated on this site.:argue: First Suh went to Tennessee, who has plenty of cap space to offer Suh a sizable contract, but still Suh left there and went to New Orleans. This shows he wasn't 100 % sold on what they were offering him, but maybe enough for him to think about. So on with Suh's tour

He went to New Orleans, who has around 3 million dollars of cap space available. Question is, did he and his agent know about what little money the Saints could offer him, or did that come as a surprise?:coffee: If they did know it shows that this isn't all about the money. Still, again not 100% satisfied with their offer, he headed to Los Angeles.

Now he comes to Los Angeles to meet with the Rams,:yess:. Now have enough room in their cap space to offer Suh a decent contract, and hope Suh isn't greedy. On top of that Suh is a big fan of the Ram's strength and conditioning trainer, having worked with him in the past. Then we have our ace in the hole who is known as McVay, who has this natural ability to connect with whoever he talks to, and people always come away impressed by him, even being able remember their names. Plus McVay has a definite plan for our team as whole, let alone being able to articulate exactly what his exact plans are for using Suh's abilities. And when Suh left he had planned on visiting at least another team, and maybe more. But he cancels the rest of his tour.

What does Suh want? He wants money of course as we all do. And even if his expectations in this area are reasonable, there is no way the Saints can compete with a reasonable offer. Remember he continued his tour when he left
What else does Suh want? He wants to go to the Super Bowl. There is no way Tennessee can offer him that in the near future. Remember he continued his tour when he left.
So Suh wants money and a trip to the Super Bowl. The only team that can offer him both is the Rams. Oh, by the way, he canceled his tour after his visit.

So we offer him a reasonable contract, a realistic trip to the Super Bowl, our strength and conditioning trainer, and we have offer him a likable, energetic, and a direction oriented coach in McVay.

Looking at all the evidence, the Rams it seems, are the ones he's now going with. At least I hope so.:shocking:

nobody was trading for the #1 pick. no team wanted to pay $78m for unproven talent.

in the position the rams were in sammy was the only pick they could make. too bad they didn't know how to run a football team because they failed to support that investment in any way, shape or form.

As I recall, the Rams had multiple offers, including a good one from Washington.

I think you are remembering Washington offering to trade for Bradford when the Rams were in position to draft RG3.

Rookie contracts were out of control so you saw fewer trade ups to #1 overall back then.

I thought that Mike Holmgren (then with the Browns) had an offer on the table including multiple draft picks. I would've taken that offer and drafted Earl Thomas.

Looks like Suh just cancelled his visit to the Raiders

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...mukong-suh-cancels-raiders-visit-returns-home

Ndamukong Suh's free agency tour will not be making a stop in the East Bay.

The free-agent defensive tackle cancelled his scheduled visit Wednesday with the Oakland Raidersand returned home to Portland to mull his options, sources told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport and NFL Network's Michael Silver.

Following dinner with coach Sean McVay and the Los Angeles Rams on Tuesday night, Suh was slated to fly up to Oakland to meet with the Raiders, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported Tuesday. However, after the Rams reportedly "made a strong impression" on Suh, the three-time Pro Bowler put the kibosh on those plans.

Rapoport added that Suh is not expected to make a decision on Wednesday, but is considering signing with the Rams, New Orleans Saints or Tennessee Titans, the three organizations that hosted him over the last week.

The defensive tackle, ranked third of NFL.com's list of Top 101 free agents, was released by the Miami Dolphins as a casualty of the salary cap and coach Adam Gase's sweeping "culture change." But his play was never in question, and Suh's market bears that out.

Suh's proposed fit with the Rams is fascinating, as he would be paired, at least for one season, with Aaron Donald, arguably the best defensive tackle in the league. How Los Angeles squeezes him under the salary cap also would be interesting.

The big-bodied defensive tackle was considered a mercenary when he signed with Miami in 2014 for an extraordinary $19 million per year over six seasons, and he desired to embark on an old-school free-agency tour this time around to "build up his market," according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. Would Suh be willing to sacrifice dollars for a chance to make up the greatest defensive-tackle pairing in NFL history? (For what it's worth, pairing him with Jurrell Casey in Tennessee would prove equally disastrous for opposing offensive lines.)

The ball is now in Suh's court (end zone?). The last big domino to fall in free agency, Suh could be the difference maker for one of three teams hoping to return to the postseason in 2018.

How about

The Ramuda Triangle Where Quarterbacks Disappear.
This DLine (if it happens) should simply be tagged 'Ghidorah'. Look it up!!

And the secondary tagged 'The Twilight Zone' - a supernatural secondary..
