Good thing is that we have gotten all those fumbles out of our system now.
Meanwhile the 49ers have incurred a great debt to the special teams gods, they will have to repay it.

A few things that keep me sane:

1. Mcvay has a way of designing excellent pass plays to crack the code of defenses.

2. We have playmakers that can take over the game. Donald, Miller, Ramsey, Kupp, Stafford, OBj and Cam.

3. Our Dline could destroy Jimmy and change the game.

4. Jones back. Could be X factor.

5. Jimmy could choke.

6. We had them last game before the Fuller injury caused our secondary confusion.

I know it may sound funny or maybe even stupid but watching weddle play against tampa his anticipation his ability to still lay it on you still there and he is fresh. I'm not saying he will be the MVP but this is the game where I think he will step up and make a difference. Maybe he reads Jimmy g and anticipates a bit better not allowing him to do certain things he has been comfortable with especially over the middle because he is very good at anticipating reading and reacting. Don't know maybe just grasping at straws but I think he his presence will be felt in this one. Even with Rapp back.

Hoping that McVay throws a monkey wrench in here with 12 sets and heavy fronts and duo on the interior
Yea but McVay can only do so much, to your point the players have to nut up and play. Week 18 I remember three different 7-OL jumbo sets, two runs went for negative yardage, one went for one yard. How is that even possible? Another time they were in dime coverage like 3rd and 2, Stafford checked to a run play from shotgun, because they had 6 in the box. Michel got stuffed behind the line and went for loss of 1. If we get abused up front the same way we will lose this game. And that is exactly why we've lost 6 straight, getting manhandled up front.

So to me it's a dumb strategy to try and force-feed runs right into the strength of their defense. Very similar matchup to TB when it comes to running the ball, it will be tough/borderline impossible on early downs. This is a game that Stafford and the pass game needs to win. Just like the TB game. We attack their weakness which is their secondary. We throw on 1st downs, get to 2nd and manageable and mix in the run from there. But we cannot get into a dick measuring contest with Shanahan and try to out-physical them. Its just not smart. You dont attack your enemies strengths. We traded for Stafford for a reason, I say we let him win it for us. The other positive to throwing early, if we can get a big lead it might make them pass a little more and get away from running the ball 90% of the time.

I agree 9 has to win this game. No doubt about it. But it's gonna be tough. He's gonna be under some heavy fire. This 9er defense is playing outstanding ball right now.

You cannot go one dimensional vs this type of front IMO. Not if you want to win the game. Even if you can't run for shit you gotta call them and run them. Otherwise you're introducing a lot of extra risk.

We got Akers this time around, too.

Every week is a tough game and I generally respect every opponent but we are better than these fuckers. Donald, Ramsey, Miller, Stafford, Kupp, Beckham… come on.

On Sunday the better team wins and the Rams are about to go out and prove that!

100% agree. We all want the Rams to win but let’s enjoy it. It’s been 20 years since theyve been relevant so it’s good to be a Ram fan these days. The harder the road travelled the sweeter the final destination (or some shit like that).

On paper yeah. BUT

The country is wanting the shitters. They want a the rematch from the 80s b/w them and the Bengals.

The ticket thing has gone mainstream. Not a good look.

ALL the talk shows are talking about Jimmy being "the guy" and hardly a peep about the Rams.

The almost meltdown against Tommy. Not a good look. Even tho things like Cooper Kupp fumbles and botched snaps aren't a norm for the Rams. But it's one of those years in the playoffs where EVERYTHING goes right when it matters.

The relative ease of a dub against Arizona. The miracle against Tampa (and Matthew Stafford recovering his fumble on first down, Tampa doing zero).

But still, IDK. My confidence level is wavering. I have no doubt the players don't have this mentality. But me, man I'm freaked out.

The Rams HAD THEM in week 18. HAD THEM. Ugggh.

The way I view it is to only enjoy it and never be disappointed.

Only positive can come out of these games. If they don't win then there are other ways to enjoy life.

Maybe Weddle can be the guy to inform the coaches that after SF runs it twice on 1st and 2nd...it's going to be a slant to Deebo on 3rd down.

I’m not worried, it’s just entertainment for me by the end of the day.

Feel pretty good about our chances considering the pattern I’ve noticed about the Rams: They take the Whiners and some teams lightly during the regular season, not showing their full playbook and intensity until the postseason. With the stakes being Super Bowl or bust, I expect a beatdown to remember considering our postseason form, and seen flashes of that in the first half of week 18. Plus winning 6 in a row is not sustainable vs the same opponent.

Just gotta play to our full potential and take what they give us (do not use the same game plan vs TB against these cunts), add more wrinkles to our play calling, and neutralize their key players (Deebo and Kittle)

We conquer the demons we created for ourselves, I’m confident with our chances vs Cincinnati or Kansas City.

Nervous? Of course, I am.

Excited? Yes, and way more than I was when the Rams played at New Orleans in their last NFC Championship Game.

Worried? Not worried with this Rams team. They are the best team in the NFL when they play clean ball. They are the toughest out in the NFL playoffs.

Cocky? No way, I've been humbled as a Rams fan for too many years.

Mindset? The 49ers and Rams are about to have their third fight. After their first two fights this season, the 49ers are 2-0.

First fight? 49ers knocked them out.

Second fight? 49ers won a split decision.

Third fight? We are going to find out Sunday.

Outcome? I have a feeling their third fight is going to end by a TKO or a Knockout.

I'm having trouble sleeping. I can't eat. My fingernails are almost gone.

I've done some mighty stressful shit in my life. Disarming anit-personel mines. Guard duty on the DMZ in Korea. Driving my Kaw Mach III 130mph on I-5. Getting married.

After all the nail biting games this year, culminating in Sunday's last second FG, I'm stressed out.

I'm done with the "do this, run that, play it this way". I'm too old for this shit.

JUST WIN THE FUCKING GAME!!!!!!!!!!!
Liberty Bell or JSA in the ROK?

I actually was part of both in 78

GOOD TIMES!

Enjoy the ride.

Yep.
None of us are garaunteed tomorrow and every playoff game is a gift.

Over the last 30+ years, Rams fans have experienced 2 seperate decades of some of the historically worst football ever. The years between '89-'99 and '06-'16. Roughly 20 out of 30 years, in decade long intervals, not only without a winning season but usually not even competitive.
- but you know what's interesting? This past weekend I told my co-worker (a big Cowboys fan) that I requested off for SB Sunday. I said that "If the Rams get there, I don't want to be stuck at work again. Who knows when I'll get another chance..."
He cuts me off laughing and says "Sure, says the guy who has seen his team in what, 3 Superbowls already!!?"
He's in his early 30s, has no memories of seeing his team win a conference championship let alone compete for or win a Superbowl....

The point?
It's good to be Rams fans.
Win, lose or draw, if that was possible, it's good being a Rams fan.
We know the lows, so we should be able to appreciate the highs as much as anyone. Everything that happens from here out is icing on the cake.
It's fucking delicious cake too. Don't wait until this era is over to enjoy it!
