Do the Vegas Insiders know something?

The sportsbooks have taken down AFC betting in the wake of this news.

I , for the life of me, can't understand why anybody here doesn't hate the Cheatriots more than the Whiners or the Shehags.

a) There's no rivalry with the Patriots. We see them once every four years.
b) I moved on from SB XXXVI a long time ago. The rest of their shenanigans, I really don't care about.

This is a team that deserves to be disbanded from the top down, that deserves to have their quarterback, head coach, owner, and coordinators banned from the game for life with all of their accolades struck down with as many * as you can possibly fit onto a page, that deserves to be stripped of all titles and records, that deserves to have all of their draft picks forfeited for the next fifteen years (as they've cheated the game for almost that long) if they aren't disbanded, that deserves to have their players scattered to the winds.

They deserve nothing less.
I like the way you think.

Best part of it all is the texts were they railed on Brady for being a dick and then openly talk about the football inflation and the assistant equipment manager says that he'll give the ball "boy" a needle.

Of course, Patriots homers are still denying that Brady or the team had anything to do with it. It's just those two guys acting on their own.

I heard that Goodell
Doesn't surprise and yet it does.

Now, the interesting part... what does Goddell do about it.

I heard that they decided to fine Brady $10 and Kraft $50...That will show them that he really means business...Bet they'll never try and cheat again after that...

Whoa, this gets even better...
"Nice dude...jimmy (McNally) needs some kicks...lets make a deal...come on help the deflator"
and
"Size 11? (Jastremski)" "Tom must really be on you (McNally)" "Nah. Hasn't even mentioned it, figured u should get something since he gives u nothing (Jastremski)"

Pretty damning evidence right there.

Tom Brady cheated his way to a Super Bowl

By CHRIS CHASE

You still want that apology, Robert Kraft? The one you’ve been smarmily waiting for since February, acting high and mighty in your two-toned shirts, certain that the New England Patriots had nothing to do with the Deflategate controversy and projecting such a confident air with your statements that there’s “no smoking gun,” leading most to believe that you knew something they didn’t — that the Wells Report was a witch hunt that would exonerate those always-honest Patriots?

It was anything but. Despite the headlines that say the Patriots weren’t proved to be involved in wrongdoing in the long-awaited Wells Report, they were. Just because it was lower-level employees doesn’t make the Pats any less culpable. No, the report didn’t reveal some massive Watergate-style cover-up, but told us what we generally expected: Some assistant managers were messing around with the football, likely at the behest of Tom Brady. It’s not cause for a football death penalty, but it’s still cheating and shows the Pats haven’t learned a thing in the decade since their dalliance with illegal videotaping of teams.

But there’s no apology coming from Kraft. He doesn’t know to leave things alone and criticized the report for not having any “hard evidence” that the Patriots were involved in the deflation of balls. But what does that mean — hard evidence? There’s not a videotape of it? The guys deflating the balls didn’t sit for an oil painting of them using a needle to get the balls to 11 PSI? It’s circumstantial evidence, hearsay and conjecture that Brady giving “the deflator,” the nickname the employee responsible for the deflation called himself, a pair of autographed footballs and signed a game-worn jersey that he had previously obtained was possible a thank you for getting those football to the illegal PSI which Brady preferred?

Maybe that’s not enough to get a conviction in a court of law, but in a court of common sense it was always likely Tom Brady knew. It was ridiculous all along to believe that a man who spent so much time handling footballs couldn’t tell the difference between one under-inflated and one properly inflated. If Ted Williams used to know when his bats were off by a touch of an ounce, Brady knew this. So what kind of cheating was it? He’s not necessarily a guy who could cork his bat, just one who might add a little too much pine tar. It’s reasonable to assume Brady didn’t think it was cheating, just getting a little home-field cooking, the same way the Giants used to control the wind at The Meadowlands or Red Auerbach would crank up the heat at the Boston Garden. But nobody had to answer for that, while Brady stood up in front of media members after the AFC championship and basically laughed off any wrongdoing.

Brady doesn’t get to make that call. It appears he cheated and he did it knowingly. He should, and will, get suspended (probably for 2-4 games) because he knew the deflation of balls was against the rules and apparently stayed involved with it anyway. Cheating isn’t a zero-sum game like some believe. There can be degrees of it and Brady is probably at the lower end, but it’s cheating nonetheless. In the 1960s or 80s, such a move might considered creative, like those moves above or putting a little Vaseline on the baseball just to get some break. But everyone’s far too serious about everything these days, especially sports, and that’s why this excerpt from Page 2 of the 243-page Wells Report is all that matters:

In layman’s terms: The Patriots (probably) cheated.

Compare that to Kraft’s quote from before the Super Bowl. “It bothers me greatly that [Brady and Belichick’s] reputations and integrity and, by association, that of our team, has been called into question.”

But that’s where Kraft’s defense went off the rails. The Patriots have no integrity to question, Robert. Once a cheater, always a cheater.

The Wells Report’s findings on DeflateGate painted a not-so-rosy picture of Tom Brady. While Ted Wells declared in his independent investigation that it was “more probable than not” that the New England Patriots quarterback knew of the potential wrongdoing on the part of locker room attendant Jim McNally and equipment assistant John Jastremski, Wells wasn’t able to provide any definitive evidence. Part of the reason might be because Brady refused to give up any emails or text messages related to the investigation. In fact, Brady, Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski and an unnamed “friend” of Jastremski’s appear to have been the only people questioned who declined requests to provide electronic information, according to the report released Wednesday. The report stated that investigators “offered to allow Brady’s counsel to screen and control the production so that it would be limited strictly to responsive materials and would not involve (their) taking possession of Brady’s telephone or other electronic devices.” Not having electronic information from Gostkowski and Jastremski’s friend did not affect the investigation much, the report stated, as investigators believed the information obtained in interviews was sufficient. Without Brady’s texts and emails, though, the report acknowledged some missing evidence. “Brady’s refusal to provide us with his own emails, text messages and phone records on relevant topics, in response to our narrowly tailored requests, limited the evidence available for our review and analysis,” the report said. “We believe that our findings are nevertheless supported by the evidence and information available to us during the course of our work.”

Talk about your 'smoking gun. . . '

I like when McNally says give me the shoes or its going to be like rugby for Tom on Sunday. Will blow that balls up as big as a watermelon. I haven't sent anything to ESPN......yet.

Jastremski, you should have a size 11 in your locker tomorrow.

Brady goes 30-35 against Chicago.

Wells Report: NFL Warned Patriots In 2004 About Improper Game Footballs

Before there was DeflateGate, there was PracticeBallGate. The Wells Report was released Wednesday, and the 243-page document concluded “it was more probable than not” that two New England Patriots employees intentionally deflated footballs for the AFC Championship Game and quarterback Tom Brady likely was “generally aware” of it. But this isn’t the first time the Patriots — and more specifically locker room attendant Jim McNally — have been accused of an incident involving illegal game balls. McNally, whose incriminating Brady-bashing text messages were included in the DeflateGate report, also came under NFL review in 2004 for allowing practice balls to be used during games. According to the Wells Report, a letter from then-NFL director of game operations Peter Hadhazy dated Nov. 2, 2004 said the incident involved New England ball boys relaying “non-approved practice balls to a game official” during an Oct. 25, 2004 regular-season game. (There actually was no game that day, but the Patriots did beat the New York Jets 13-7 on Oct. 24.) The Wells Report stated McNally, referred to as “James McNulty” in the letter, was described as the person “in charge of the game day footballs” for the Patriots. He also was the team’s equipment manager at the time and chalked the incident up to “just an honest mistake,” per the report. But Hadhazy wrote in a letter that the Patriots failed to provide a reasonable explanation for the incident and warned the team could face disciplinary action “if a similar incident occurred in the future because it could be interpreted as a competitive violation,” according to the report.

I think they ought to really come down hard on Brady. What a liar.

And I may be wrong about Belicheat knowing about it based upon this report:

Wells Report Begs A Big Question: Did Tom Brady Lie To Bill Belichick?

http://nesn.com/2015/05/wells-repor...belichick-he-had-no-knowledge-of-deflategate/

If the Wells Report’s conclusion is that it’s “more probable than not” Tom Brady was aware of anyone on the New England Patriots’ equipment staff deflating footballs, then it’s more probable than not that he lied to coach Bill Belichick about it. Investigator Ted Wells released his DeflateGate findings Wednesday, and the 243-page report implicates Brady, equipment assistant John Jastremski and locker room attendant Jim McNally as the main suspects. According to the report, Belichick and Patriots equipment manager Dave Schoenfeld both spoke to their employees “most involved with ball preparation” after media buzz surrounding DeflateGate took off, and Brady and Jastremski denied any involvement. Belichick asked Brady on Jan. 22 if he had any knowledge of the media’s claims, the report said, and the quarterback said “absolutely not.” Belichick then asked Brady if he or anyone he knew tampered with the footballs used in the AFC Championship Game. “Belichick recalled that Brady also explained that once he inspects and approves game balls, those balls are exactly as he likes them and that he would not want anyone to do anything to them after that point,” the report said. “Belichick believed Brady.” If the NFL does end up punishing Brady for the Wells Report’s findings, Belichick might end up with a few more questions for his quarterback.

This, and 3 more reasons:
1. 49ers have cheated a lot more
2. 49ers have not been punished anywhere close to even the Pats wrist-slapping by the NFL
3. The media constantly criticizes and exposes the Pats cheating, but they hide the 49ers cheating so the average fan doesn't know about it.

I hadn't heard of that. If true, I can see how that would affect your decision but did any of those offenses cost your team the SB? I'm asking because I'd like to know. A brief synopsis that is.
