When Dr. Watkins operated on JPP and Gronk, both were given a 12 week schedule to return, in season. Sure, neither were QBs, but who cares, we’re in panic mode speculation, right? Looks like if they cut on Staff and if he’s given 12 weeks, and returns to practice on Nov 10, that’s time to play the last 8 games - enough time to salvage the season! Or not.

Actually the more I think about this, the less I’m concerned. Stafford worked out last weekend, and McVay came in the post game presser raving about how good he looked and that he’d be practicing on Monday. But then soreness crept in and they had to change plans.

My guess is McVay doesnt want a repeat of that, and would rather not unnecessarily put those expectations on the table. Instead, he will just wait to see how Stafford responds to the workout before saying anything. Assuming they had the workout.

Yeah…. kind of crazy that people in online forums actually have opinions.
I hear ya, but if the reports started pouring in that 9 had a great workout, there would immediately be skepticism because he had a great workout last week and was expected to practice but didn’t. *Assuming* he worked out, let’s wait to see how he feels on Monday before making any judgments.

I will admit - this is the first time since I heard about the back issue that I am actually worried.

It’s okay to have opinions but without any actual information those opinions are based on speculation. You can have people speculating that he’s going to be fine or optimistic opinions or you can speculate the worst and be more pessimistic but everything right now good or bad is SPECULATION regardless.

Hope for the best for Stafford. I can't imagine seeing the worst outcome however he's a human being. His body has taken a beating.

This doesn't worry me. It would be out of turn for anyone other than the head coach to speak about it. What Mcvay says tomorrow will be the determining factor for me.

something to consider - if he did workout Saturday...

They have to see how he feels today after working out - so wouldn't be worth saying anything until Monday.

Chicken littles. Isn't that the term Bernie Miklasz used, to mock the people of St. Louis who thought the Rams would actually move out of town???

Now, I'm officially worried...
Actually he was complaining the about the chicken he ate. "This little chicken ain't enough for my fat ass".

Well I didn't notice him at the game this week, did you? I was hoping they just were holding back till they saw how he responded the next day, but not seeing him on the sideline really makes me worry.

Coach-speak.. McVay is masterful in using this and makes you always wonder if you are getting the whole truth. Sports talking-heads go the other way and always go as negative as possible when looking at the possible return of injured older players. At least it seems that way to me.

At this point, McVay is using this to his advantage. The Texans will prepare for Jimmy G, and get Mathew Fucking Stafford.
No measly back is keeping that guy out. Practice ? He don't need no sticking PRACTICE !
