So now we need Kupp to rework his deal, another good draft, and a FA or two and we’re off. Let’s do this.
I'm hoping for that too. I don't think Snead feels great about asking Kupp to take less money because he has too much respect for him. I think it's up to Kupp to broach the subject.

Not going to dredge up my posts as I don’t feel the need for such petty patting myself on the back but I was right there with you.
Me too but my confidence was fading. I didn’t even care how much money he got. I was relieved.

Might be Stafford’s job now.

the "i told you so posts" .. lol whatever

i think my last post on the subject was about how i was beginning to have doubts, because of the raiders local,
their salary cap non issue, and the ability to possibly make the playoffs with staff...

however...

in the end, rams and staff... both sides needed each other... it was hard to imagine them not giving a little and getting over the hump...

now we can all relax and focus on FA and the draft...

go rams

You must be so proud.

You should brag to your girlfriend, "Hey honey, did you know a bunch of strangers on the internet discuss whether or not my balls tingle?"
I'm not sure if that'll go over well. I might end up in the wrong room, lol. "But honey, I'm crazy over you!" :laugh1::laugh2:

According to Jourdan, Rams only want to be year to year with Stafford from this point on.
Makes sense. You never know when an older quarterback will start his decline. Brady went a long way. In 2014 Peyton Manning was great. 39 TD's. In 2015 the wheels came off. 9 TD's to 17 INT's in 10 games. If Stafford's showing decline later in the season they'll know his time is coming to an end. If he's still good they can do what they did this offseason.

If they give him a two year deal, I'll be shocked, but not surprised.

I'm expecting a one year.

Yeah that's definitely the risk is the fall off. Not many QBs last well into or even hit 40 as grade A QBs. I think if he takes care of himself, Stafford can definitely be effective for awhile longer. A key question is how long does he want to play.

Isn't surprised a step below shocked?

I heard a top insider (Schefter?) also suggest a one-year deal but that would surprise, shock me.
I might be Astounded! Possibly even Flabbergasted!!!

If Stafford wanted more guaranteed-$, and had $90-$100M on-the-table from Las Vegas, I would guess the Rams approached that amount ($60-$75M) but that would almost require the deal to be for more than 1 year. Maybe two. Maybe a Void Year or two.

What's important to recognize is that I have Absolutley No Fucking Idea!
