OK, big win against Chiefs. Then Thanksgiving and bye week.

Goff hasn't been the same since. McVay didn't do him any favors against Lions or last night, but he easily could have been the main reason we haven't won since then (got a few good against the Lions).

I am keeping the faith that he snaps out of it. He has completely forgotten how to look off defenders, not stare down the target, feel the rush, and step into the throws.

Let's hope the Eagles bring the tonic he needs to start gearing up for the playoffs. I think the Saints have one more loss in them and we can still grab 1st seed...

He probably got cougar'ed by Halle Berry and he's still in a daze (admittedly, a happy one).

Actually I've been thinking about this ever since the Lion game and i am wondering if there is a young lady involved somewhere in the mix. Heh......he wouldn't be the first young man to get out of sorts after encountering a pretty lady or two.
He just seems out of it if you know what I mean. Last time I saw that look someone was walking down the aisle at a church.
And that 'someone' was me!!

just my .02

I was wondering the same thing, it's often that these guys are like this when somethingwhen something is happening in their personal life. I trust McVay will get a handle on it

It does seem odd. He looked physically ill against the Lions but this game he was just flat out off.

My question would be what happened to the entire O-line during the bye? That might answer the question of what happened to Goff?

Too small of a sample size for me. If he doesn't look good next Sunday I'll be a bit more worried.

How 'bout the entire O? Woods was even missing blocks.

A thought occurred to me (Yeah, I know.... YIKES!) But is it possible McVay saw what was going on and tried to get him through it by putting the game in his hands instead of Gurley's? Kind of like when your shooting guard is off and you keep feeding him the ball? Just a thought and not really all that well thought out but.....

Lol some of you are too much.. I think Goff is just hitting a late season wall... Remember, he did an interview with Peter King a couple weeks I believe where he mentioned at this point in the season things start to ache and hurt bc of the toll of the season. Brady’s no different, he’s been on the radio last couple of weeks suggesting the same notion.

True - but it doesn't sit well none the less.

I dont think anything happened to him during the Bye.as others pointed out,I think he was off in the Lions game mainly because of the flu bug going around.Gurley said he senses something wrong with him in the game and I said in one of my threads if Goff struggles in the Bears game, dont worry, that is expected because the offense is not as effective in the cold weather as it is in the dome or warm weather, that was why mcvey did not have him throw deep down the field.

IF he struggles in the next game against the lowly Eagles,THEN we have something to worry about.

Maybe ... just maybe... Goff had no run game, bad play calling, no protection, confusion with his WRs, back to back road games, cold, loud, getting over an illness and faced the best D in the league playing the biggest game of their season?

He wasn't good, but its not as if he had a chance to look good in those conditions.

Honestly, he might have been worse vs the Lions.. but the team wasn't.

The o-line was certainly shit against the Bears... Against Detroit they were okay.

What happened is he played two good defenses in a row. Patricia has put up his best efforts vs the best opponents, and once he has more pieces on that roster watch out. Fangio has a unit with outstanding talent to include some real up and coming players like Roquan Smith on top of Mack who gets all the hype.

That game was a very nice playoff primer for our young QB and also for our OL. Hope the wideouts were taking notes too, because they got beat as well. Goff played like crap but boy did he have a lot of company.
