I love what we’ve seen from mccutcheon but cmonHe's got the potential to be a Robinson clone with more speed

No doubt. Crazy how quickly the look of that room has changed.I think they see bigger more physical receivers as more of a fit than before.
Dude , come on now. I see your point at QB. IMO the team will rally better with Perkins.I lived Perkins feel around the pocket. Last year he was good. In 2022 you can see it coming together. He got a lot of 2nd & first team reps. This is a numbers game. I'd rather have McCutcheon than a #3 QB Wolford. McCutcheon will not clear waivers. He's got the potential to be a Robinson clone with more speed. IMO he's worthy of replacing OBJ and will have an impact. IMO Lance makes this WR group 4 deep because Skowronek is a good WR but his role is simply as a possession receiver. That role in this offense is played by the TE. Skowronek was playing because OBJ, Higbee and Blanton were out. If they have the option of playing McCutcheon or Skowronek IMO it will be Lance. Benny Sko runs a 4.68, Lance McCutcheon timed at 4.57 and both receivers are big targets. Also, McCutcheon's block put a guy on his back, he blew him up. I think Lance is ahead of Ben on the depth chart. Also, Skowronek has had some costly drops including one that became an INT in the Super Bowl and cost 3 points.
Skowronek is a fine role player, but McCutcheon has a much higher ceiling. The Rams are stacked at WR. OBJ will be going to Buffalo.
This is why Van may not make it with LA in the long run.Somewhat yeah, but he was supposed to help open things up for Goff when it was only Kupp & Woods. Pre OBJ, pre Allen Robinson.

I like Van a whole lot and think many on this board are way too hard on the cat. The guy puts up numbers as a 3/4 WR that other teams have their 1/2 WR put up.This is why Van may not make it with LA in the long run.
Unless Van learns how to go up and get it consistently, he could wind up on the outside here.
And I like Van, but I just haven't seen it as part of his game.
Yet.

I think we are cooking something like this;
WR1 - Cooper Kupp
WR2 - Allen Robinson
WR3 - Van Jefferson
WR4 - Tutu Atwell
WR5 - Lance McCutcheon
WR6 - Brandon Powell
WR7 / TE - Ben Skowronek
WR8 / TE - Jacob Harris
TE1 - Tyler Higbee
TE2 - Brycen Hopkins
Thats 10… and we had 10 players allocated to those positions last year at cut down.

If Snead/McVay does consider the trading of our 3rd yr 2nd-round selection Jefferson by the trade deadline it better be used to utilize a Right Guard, not a part-time Edge Rusher who wants to be paid like AD!Posted this in the 53 man thread... I think this is a real possibility.
So if McCutcheon & Harris make the team and show promise, do you move Jefferson so you have room to sign OBJ...assuming you have a deal worked out with OBJ?
Maybe Jefferson and a 5 for Quinn in Chicago. The Bears need WRs badly.
Or you just move Jefferson for a pick. Might get as high as a 4th for him and a team like the Bears it would be a high 4th

no show TuTu Atwell
I understand that fully. My point was ....I have not seen the 2022 TuTu show, have you?no show? he's being held out like the rest of the players the rams feel are important for the upcoming season.
.
With Jefferson most likely headed for the early IR & no show TuTu Atwell last few weeks....I don't see how McVay can justify keeping him sitting on the sideline & off the field.
Actually Hardy has not impressed me. Looks too small at 6-3 240...seems to get swallowed up by OTs. I think Whitley has more upside...bigger and athletic.Honestly, even with Hardy's injury, he'll only be out temporarily, so I'd be more interested in trading for a quality OG at this time and not waiting for the trade deadline. Perhaps trading Jefferson near the trade deadline is a great move if OBj still remains part of the equation, but currently I'm far more concerned about our OL and getting our RB's back on track. jmo.
I feel like Quinn is almost inevitable.. but at trade deadline so that he can fit under cap.Actually Hardy has not impressed me. Looks too small at 6-3 240...seems to get swallowed up by OTs. I think Whitley has more upside...bigger and athletic.
And yeah, not pounding the table for Quinn because he takes a big bite out of the cap so that might not be doable anyway especially if OBJ is still in the plans.
However, moving Jefferson for a decent pick or like you said for OL reinforcments, might make sense if Tutu is for real and McCutcheon is considered a prospect for the future.
